A Little Help, Please? [‡ø]

Ok, normally I would go as far as to solve a problem like this on my own, but there's one issue with that - I can't.

Here goes.

So basically, my computer killed itself about a week ago. Yesterday, I found my recovery disk and reinstalled Windows XP. Everything seemed to be working better than ever. One minor issue - NO FREAKING SOUND

So, I reinstall the sound drivers from the RealTek website and all that shit over and over again, but nothing clicks. Device Manage shows all my drivers being up and working, but I hear nothing.

So I check under Other Drivers, and notice something. Multimedia Audio Controller has a yellow question mark flag over it, and if I try to reinstall it, it says it needs to access the internet(which that computer does not have access to), and quits.

I'm almost positive that the MAC is the problem, and if I can get that reinstalled, all will be well.

Anyone out there in 64Digits land wanna help a guy out? I wouldn't ask if I knew how to fix it myself.

Hey, thanks for all the help.

My disk drives have done the same thing. I can't even get my usb external cd-drive to work. And I can't update the drivers, because my comp doesn't even recognize that the hardware exists.

First, what is the name of the soundcard? (I personally would recommend dumping XP and using Kubuntu.)

Since that computer doesn't have access to the internet, why don't you go find the driver on this computer now and then download it and burn it to a disc…

bendodge tries to plug kubuntu every chance he gets lmao. I personally dual boot ubuntu and vista ultimate and I almost never use ubuntu except when I forget to pick vista loader when my computer boots up lmao

Yeah, well now it's telling me it doesn't detect a sound card.

I think I'm fucked.

Or maybe you have to turn your audio equipment on?
