Early on in the game, you should have him attempt to communicate with one of the birds, just so he can drop the "ENGLISH MOTHERF****R, DO YOU SPEAK IT?" line.
In trying to stray away from giving criticism without being constructive at all I'll actually tell you where to improve.
His right eye is larger and seemingly more angled toward the screen, which is strange because it should be further away from the screen/angled differently. In fact, the entire right side of his face seems to be at the same angle as the left, making him look like he had his face run over with an 18 wheeler. For instance, his eyebrows look mirrored even though he appears to be facing a 45ish degree angle. The highlight/shadow colors you picked were pretty spot on, the trouble is that the highlighting and shading are anatomically nonsensical. Also, a minor thing is it looks like his ears didn't develop properly.Other than that, the UI, background, sprites and textbox all look pretty slick.
julian pls@Charlie Never even noticed the eye thing, thanks. That face is a disaster but it's what I spent the most time on, everything else was an afterthought. I think I overcomplicated the shading perhaps? I put in lines that shouldn't be there. And yeah the whole right side of his face is wrong, and the nose, and the ear, and his beard. Everything apart from his left eye and cheek, basically.Arty things aren't my strong point.
It's pretty good, barring that dude's portrait. Although, it looks comically bad, which I think works in its favor.
Dude's so angry.Early on in the game, you should have him attempt to communicate with one of the birds, just so he can drop the "ENGLISH MOTHERF****R, DO YOU SPEAK IT?" line.
Welcome Toast.

The color choice is great (high contrast makes everything look better).
Why not? It's further away, plus it's much easier to recognize things of actual significance.
I lol'd. Awesome pixel art.
This needs a cheat mode where the player turns into Samuel L. Jackson.
