First snow yay!

Yay! We got first snow here Finland!

In pic is part of my yard. There isn't so much snow still…

Well, usually we get first snow in the end of October but it is usually only temporary. It disappears in next weeks. Permanent snow comes usually end of November. So it takes

some time before I can hobby crosscountry skiing again.

You may think now something like "WTF!? Isn't there snow all

around the year!? And where are those polarbears!?"

Well, we don't have snow all around the year like some people may think. And we don't have polarbears also XD

Usually we have snow November-April and then is summer, yay!

But actually, we Fins often wonder why many foreigners think we have those polarbears. It sounds so silly.

Well, my visual arts' teacher (who is very nice teacher) told to my visual arts class theory about why foreigners think here is those polarbears.

I don't remember what year it was but here was many news reporters from England and other countries. Well, Finland's National museum had two gypsum bear statues front of main door. (I don't know is there any bears front of door nowdays) Because it was gypsum, bears was white. Well, reporters saw these "white bears" and probably thought something like "Oh! Polarbears! I didn't knew that Finland haves polarbears! Let's take picture about these statues…"

And guess what? Later after reporters have gone, those hite bears have painted to the brown! Yes we have brown, but not white bears.

And it's our national animal or something like that XD

Ah I'm just talking about first snow and polarbears…

My weather engine "Cyclone" is in good way right now. Wind system and clouds works nicely. Just must find way to make coriolis effect…

Until next time, see ya!

Heh, here we usually have 0.5-1,5 metres snow at winter.

But my friend told that in Lapland may be about 2.5 metres o_O

Heh, we got some snow here in Canada. Or, rather, where I live in Canada. And it's a decent amount too, looks like it's gonna stay.

The last time I remember it snowing here (back in january or february) it snowed late at night (about 10pm). The snow was a couple cenitmeters deep, just enough to have a good snowball fight with our neighbours. by 8 am next day it had all gone!

Tumetsu 18 years, 1 month ago

Heh, that happens often here also in autumn marbs. Today snowed tomorrow you see only grass.

But later it comes and stays to the spring. Yeah, I have heard that Canada also haves snow what stays longer period.

And snowball fight is fun unless there is rocks inside ball, ouch!

It's also fun create very big snow ball :D
