It looks all professional and legit, and costs more, and exports to a shitton of platforms now, since I last used it in like '08.
Is it still slower than molasses? I'm actually considering trying it again, I miss the ease of use.It looks all professional and legit, and costs more, and exports to a shitton of platforms now, since I last used it in like '08.

I went from GM to XNA, then to SFML and some messing around with Allegro, and lately LibGDX/Java…
But to be honest, some part of me wants to try new Game Maker. It was so easy to prototype, test, make changes, etc. compared to the aforementioned.I recommend Unity if you want a professional platform with a Gamemaker like workflow.
I tried Unity twice now. I couldn't get into it. Also, I know there are 2D tools made for it but it's primarily for 3D.
It's faster now and they are working on an update to make it even faster
>Bloated
>Not talking about GMI loled.Have you ever built a game with Unity that wasn't based off of an example project?btw, I recommend http://unityide.com/ over Mono Develop. It's Brilliant.I should talk about Unity 3D more often around here, there's a lot to it that many of you might appreciate about it.Calling Unity 3D bloated is a stock observation among people who ever got past the Island presentation Demo though.
Not so much as an insult as it is an educated guess. That did seem kind of randomly, and uncharacteristically, harsh, Chi.
The Unity editor would seem very bloated compared to the GM IDE, especially for 2D purposes. And the finished product from Unity would be nowhere near as bloated as a GM game doing the same stuff.
Both halves of the argument have some truth to them.
