Skyrim!

I'm so psyched for it.. I pre-ordered in like… March. And now it's only 20 days away.

So right now I'm doing some hardcore coding for S4D until they show 45 minutes of never before seen publicized gameplay at 1:05 EST on Spike (which I only get black and white video of, no audio :P). The way this hardcore coding works is I have a list of tasks that totally need to be done. And I have a timer that is just begging to beep annoyingly at me. So I give myself 30 minutes to run through each task as quick as possible.

I mean, I can still iterate from there, but so far my initial arbitrary magic numbers have been working out great! I've got… 1 task done! And now I'm posting here probably to procrastinate in a situation where I've already tried to keep out procrastination :)

I hate when Spike hypes shit up saying, "Never Before Seen Gameplay", then they show you less than 30 seconds of some random horseshit.

I haven't been keeping track of skyrim too much, so I will most likely not watch Spike for it, lol.

Oh hey, a reason to pull out my 360 again. I completely forgot.

Yeah, in the trailer for this they were showing the E3 demo so they better not just be showing that ha…

I've already heard everything I wanted to from reviews following a 3-hour journalist playtime last week so this is more of an excuse to get stuff done.

It's not like The Elder Scrolls are demanding games, either. How old is the engine by now? Unless you're on a laptop with Intel graphics. But even then I bet you could run Oblivion.

=<

Never tried one on the PC before. Besides, I most likely couldn't run it on my laptop. Guess I could get it for my desktop, but I don't really use it often (brother's usually on it).

I should ask though, are the animation transitions any good? Because Oblivion pissed me off in that regard. And many others. Actually (feel free to flame me here) Oblivion felt very amateurish in places. If Skyrim hasn't improved on any of that, well, maybe I won't get it after all.

Morrowind on xbox:

Morrowind on PC:

Although graphics aren't the main reason why it would be better, they're an easy way to demonstrate the difference.

Also the ability to fix Oblivion's terribly broken leveling system that rewards a player for taking abilities they'll never use as their MAIN skills and the ones they will use as minor skills. Some of the worst implementation of level-scaling I've ever seen.

Well then. I guess that settles it.

I still need a reason to dust off the 360.

I'm guessing you're a singleplayer person kilin?

I can't give you any reason, honestly. If it were a PS3 there would be plenty of reasons (Dark Souls, anyone?)… but a 360 doesn't have much of a use if you have a PC that isn't a netbook/old as fuck.
