Scary Four Code Torture

So guyz.

Since Rez always comes up with some sick stylized art and now he's got buddy buds who are also powerhouses of brainz in this community we're all expecting some slick stuff from them.

You already knew that. You thought it. You might have said it. But you knew it.

It could be a bluff as far as the competition is concerned. A collision of coincidental mishaps and missed opportunities may result in no fruition from this explosive dynamic. But it's there, looming on the horizon. A game we look forward to playing, and fear as competition. So much fear that you could probably make a game in line with the theme just about this particular situation.

They're not the only ones… competition is stiff.

So I think, "you know what… I'm just going to make a 3D awesome GM game with tons of cool stuff and it'll be sweet and scary and doesn't afraid of anything."

And it has to be cross-platform and made in GM Studio and facilitate many future releases as an added bonus because that's just how realistic people think [unrealistically].

TL;DR

I've been banging my head against the wall trying to make a good 3D terrain and level editor like the best existing GM ones such as Dark Region and GMTE2. All are dependent on extensions, which I don't want this to be. I'M A GM PURIST!

I should go back to selep. Sorry.

If we get more games for S4D than we did from RPG4D, I'm ragequitting this site.

Why the fear? I mean sure it's a "competition" but no need to get competitive. It's not like the losers have to fight to death in the 64 Digits War Arena or anything; it's all just good fun, and a reason to actually make something.

I should probably actually work on my entry, I've been playing Guildwars 2 too much, and Minecraft.

Finally beat the Enderdragon!

Okay I'm going to go work on my entry.

FEAR ME. But ya keep in mind I have a full-time job + another project I work on (lanarts). There's still a shitload of work ahead of us.

Jeez. Talk about pressure. I didn't know what I was getting into!

I don't think there is any downside to competition. Ultimately, it just pushes people to make better games. Which we can ALL play and enjoy.

And my offer was open to everyone. Rez called dibs on the S4D contest, but that doesn't mean I'd be against collaborating with you once it's over. Hit me up if you are interested and good luck with this game.

Eh.

We'll see.

GM purism is just silly. I can understand do-it-yourself purism, but an engine is an engine.

The only rationale I can think of for not using extensions is that they're not cross-platform (although I don't think the 3D features in GM are anyway). In my case I can't use them in OSX and Windows interchangeably… or if I knew how to, I probably wouldn't be using GM.
