Due to frequent complaints that I'm too long-winded, I'm going to keep this one brief, screw the consequences. (Seriously, I know my journals are too short sometimes, doods, but if i make them longer people complain. :x )
Here is a list of recent changes and plans to the HamstaPowah RPG engine, which I'm slowly getting more comfortable with the idea of (finally) updating the demo of:> Menu Saturation/Value can now be set even if the color change effect is on.> Windmill decoration complete. Door at present does not work.> "Tactics" under sub-menu is now functional.> Status screen restored/updated. (WIP)> Code reorganized to aide file size.> Most text will now be drawn with shadows.> Battle sprites being reworked.> Menu Color menu no longer has text running outside of the title box.> External event creation for towns, dungeons, etc. being constructed. This also allows external monster party definition.> Stats and their effects have been reevaluated.> Some sounds that played even if sound had been turned OFF have been discovered and fixed.> Monster encounters are visible, but as of yet do not start fights.!> Battle system temporarily down until various fixes are applied. (New stats and some variable changes result presently in a nice error message just trying to go in.)!> Save game script presently doesn't work, and old saves may have issues. Working towards more efficient and easily updated save script.!> Main window of sub menu is still incomplete (party quick stats are not shown).o> Plan to add name and level of selected item(s) on Tactics menu.Generally, stuff is moving, a lot of it's back-end, and some stuff that used to work now doesn't because I've been making things a bit more efficient and rethinking things like stats and their functions. Bear with me a while longer and you may almost get a working battle system.
I like the name
*twitch* I wait this many months, and thats all that has changed? Yeesh. Oh well, I might-as-well wait for your upload.
Well, you must note school has taken most of my time, and my rare Gm spurts were mostly spent tweaking with things that required less sprite/background work, because I get enough artistic touching with the comics and fact I'm after an art degree.
Then we account for the hard drive wipe and all is poop. >:Fate conspires against rodents… I just know it.
