If any of you give a shit…
I've decided, with only 5 days left in the competition, that Snow Stalker has too many bugs to continue into the contest, so I've start a new snowboarding game, which I have most of the parts for so it should go quickly.I'm going to complete snowstalker after the competition, I have to restart it. The only thing I'm keeping is the resources, which took me the longest. This was to be my first story-driven game, and I have to finish it, as it should only have a 2-hour campaign. 2 hours of playtime~40 hours coding. That's not much, but most of the time I had to work on the game i devoted to the graphics, and as I said earlier, the entire game was incredibly bugged up. I have to blame this mainly on the fact that I built the entire game off a multiplayer engine, as I wanted it to be focused on co-op gameplay, though I dropped this idea in favor of single-play.Anyway, if you give a shit please post so, then I'll be motivated by fans.
hooray. *gives motivation*
A Snowboarding game would be awesome tho if done right. You should make that online multiplayer, each game being a "run," and having multiple mountains to board, and having unlockables in single player, like jackets and boards, and other mountains to ride. Although no one could implement that in 5 days.If you need any help don't hesitate to ask :D
I just started 3d modeling too. Mostly abstract stuffFor the snowboarding game, there will be 2 mountains with 7 trails each, you have to start off on bunny hill then 'level up' to different levels: green circle, blue square, and black diamond, which unlocks those trails. Also, there will 'hopefully' be three modes: Race (with two sub categories, slalom and gates) Freestyle (you get points for tricks) , and Snapshot. In snapshot you just have to pull off 1 high-level trick successfully, and then they press will automatically take a picture of you doing the trick. The points earned in these modes will unlock new boards and skiis.
Oh and Sk8: I've been modelling for over a year now. I know how to work with anim8or very well, and despite only starting the game yesterday, already have all my models.Make a randomly generated mountain path for you to go down. That would be bad ass.
^Agreed
Oh yes! Randomly generated mountain paths!
I could…
I'm on the comp 8 hours a day. I really want to, but there's no way in hell that I'll finish my game in time for the competition (unless they accept a demo). Will the snowboarding game be 3D? Like SSX and such?Yes, it is full 3d. Like SSX. But with less lame ass shit like 'you can't touch the snow' I mean WHAT THE FUCK. Snowboarding with no snow!?!?1
Yes! Now I have a chance at winning!
