Seriously… Firefox is crashing. Often. And I'm not just talking a-
Yep, it crashed while typing it. The little hyphen denotes where it crashed while I was typing.It can crash as often as 5-8 times in a single sitting of use - that can USUALLY range from 2-5 hours (with OR without breaks in between). This didn't happen with Firefox 3.x It crashed but not like this. It occasionally did.Firefox 4 betas/release candidate(s)? Flawless. No problems at all.Firefox 4? Nope. Go to your room and have a time out. BAD firefox. :(Honestly? I'd rather not use Opera and DEFINITELY not Chrome (bad experience with both). I'm using……wait for it…wait for iiiit………..Internet Explorer 9.Somehow I'm using it. And I'm liking it. I feel like I betraying a browser I've liked but… Until Mozilla get's their crap together I'm using IE for anything important enough to not have crash on me.Anyone have any ideas? Firefox's IRC channels had no help (ignored or stupid ideas that didn't work) and posting on the forums yields replies on how people have these problems… but no solutions. :/
@Rawrspoon
It's kinda funny that you chose 2 of the things IE9 is better/equal to chrome in to say why you chose chrome =pI'm runnin 32-bit Chrome 12.0.733.0 dev and it rarely crashes on me…
And this is the dev build which is *supposed* to be unstable.Firefox seems to crash on my school computers a lot. I switched to Chrome last year because I kept having the same issues (and I still have it installed, but it's slow as hell). Chrome just seems to work better for me.
And as for IE, only when I want to have a different history list.Different people have different results with different browsers. Except for Bob, who just uses IE to spite everybody else or something.
I'm using FF4 and its running perfectly. I could never get into using Chrome because, interestingly enough, it kept crashing.
I'll be honest. Chrome crashes on me sometimes and I have to resort to FF. which doesn't crash but runs slow as fk.
lol so everyone seems to have similar problems with different browsers. This officially sucks. OFFICIALLY. Because this provides no clues to what the heck the problem is at all. X3
I like Chrome for its pure simplicity and ease of use. Everyone says FF boots much faster than Chrome, but for me, such is not the case.
My school has a stupid ass IT setup, and use outdated versions of IE (no tabs). It's understandable that they don't use chrome because a lot of people wouldn't be used to it, but they could at least go with FF or a newer version of IE…Using IE6 (no tabs) is pretty much inexcusable =p Which is why it's important that as many websites as possible stop working in IE6 (IE7 too, if you really want to make a difference) to force people to actually update. We can't get rid of IE8 yet since IE9 doesn't work on XP, but IE8 isn't bad unlike 6/7.
I'm a tabs man, I need my tabs.
