…Is gonna have a new demo available soon.
If you don't know what it is… http://www.eagledesignmedia.net/games/deepfreeze(We really need a collapsible box so you can show/hide things easily)Deep Freeze, for those that don't know was a game that had scored 3rd place in the 2011 Frosty Four Digits competition. Somehow. People liked it, and it's been a project that myself and Nick have been working at a lot now. There's been on and off work, and lately, we've been working on it. And it's been quite draining, even for me. Between working 5 days a week, and working on the game when I'm on break or off, whether it's code, graphics or more concepts, it's been quite rough. But I'm pleased to say that there is gonna be a new demo soon. For many of you who played the competition version of the game (which you can still play on that site), y'all wanted to be able to place tiles anywhere in the room. And over time we both agreed this was the best course of action - in fact, it allowed us to start implementing many more objects and hazards.Graphics are starting to get a bit of an overhaul, making things look a bit better. It's tough when you're doing most of it but it's definitely starting to look better.Music is relatively unchanged from the currently available demo, but it's gonna be getting some changes made to it as well. Many of the broken (or partly working) elements have been changed and updated to work correctly now, and I'm happy to say that the game - at least most of what is available right now - is working, and working well.Really, the only thing standing between me, nick and a demo is a few more tweaks (and the million more we end up deciding to add) as well as a new set of levels - to add something new for you to play as well as to finally give a good test drive on all the new updates.Sorry for the lack of screenshots by the way - I don't want to give any more details until either Nick decides to show some stuff off, or until the demo is done. We're positive that you're all gonna love what's in store - even more so than the first demo.(6:30 AM post, whoo!)
I remember that the competition version was pretty solid, it had crystal-clear rules and the gameplay was a bit trippy. I'm glad the project isn't frozen and you're sculpting it into something even cooler. Unless it really bites, it should get a warm reception. It's also good to hear it's even more deep and no longer breaks.
On a serious note, I'll check if out if I find the time, I remember the competition version and I'm a bit curious what's changed.Cesque, you're
drunkDaggerHog. Go home.@Mega Derp. I missed that in the bbcode listing. lol.
@Cesque that… what awful. But awesome. I certainly wouldn't wanna pull an EA/Bioware and give the fans of the game a… cold shoulder *Sunglasses* YEAAAA-
