money #3

Posted by death on Sept. 5, 2012, 4:17 p.m.

i haz none again. a severe cut in my hours has led to almost no money. i did manage so save up enough to pay the massive electricity bill ($201 goes up every month!) but now rent is due today.

my gf's mother is supposed to handle that. it's the only bill she has to pay while me and my gf pay for everything else. her mom makes more money than me and my gf combined so it sounds like a simple task. today she tells us she needs $340 to complete the payment. what?

am i missing something? did something happen while i was at school today? where the fuck did all her money go? okay so i don't have enough to make up for this lose and neither does my gf. so we're fucked…

our final chance, we take out a loan. for $200 and i dump all the money i have in my account (which is a pending payment for the electric bill) to complete the payment for the rent. we go to the bank to deposit the cash so that we can write a check and more bad luck hits me. The ATM steals $120 dollars. we put in $340 and it shows up as $220. WTF!

So than we go inside to talk to an employee about this and we get "sorry nothing we can do about it"… really? well that's fucking great service than! what a convenience! This is Bank of America, this is what they do to 3 poor ass people who are just trying to pay the bills. Thank you America for letting me down yet again. This fucking country full of lies and scams. I'm tired of it.

In the end, we wrote the check anyway and sent it into the office at my apartment. If the check goes through, it'll put the account into the negative and you know how that works in banks. Interest up your ass!

That's friggin' shitty that it would steal $120. =/

They can't investigate it or anything? That's ridiculous. You should seriously file a complaint with the bank ASAP. The longer it takes, the more likely it is they won't be able to look into it.

I'd offer to paypal you the money to cover it if it could go in fast enough. (I can still lend it to you if you have a reputable way of doing it)

We should be fine with the rent for now, we're just going to have to live through debt. since we now owe money to both the bank and a loan company. with my low hours it's going to be harsh. if we can't climb out of this debt before next month's rent, than i'll have a major problem. i'm going to have to beg people at work to trade me shifts and try to extend to overtime if i'm lucky enough. (and my luck is never good)

also i can't use PayPal because of this:

Aug 29, 2012: As of April, 2012, new Federal Regulations require Money Service Businesses, such as PayPal, to verify the identity of a customer before we can provide various services or product offerings. As a result, PayPal must ensure we have collected and verified important data such as customer name, address, date of birth, and national tax ID or social security number. Because we were not able to fully confirm your identity based on your current account information, we need to request additional supporting documentation from you.

yes, i have learned my lesson. no more ATM shit. only problem is that banks are rarely ever opened during times i can get to them. most close by 5pm and aren't open weekends. to somebody with a busy schedule it's really hard to get to the bank when i really NEED to. so we gotta rely on unreliable machines.

In Ontario, major selling points of certain banks has been their long hours, and it's kind of spread to most banks now. (almost every branch of my bank is open Saturday, and remains open until 20:00).

hmm, ATMs are unreliable you say?

I recieved an email this morning saying that my paycheck was 280 dollars. I deposited 260.

The ATM apparently didn't think your taxes were properly deducted.
