You can count me out of the comp. I haven't had any free time to work on any project in weeks. Been working crazy overtime and school is taking up way more time than i expected. My classes are pretty heavy on the homework this semester and the classes require a lot of studying too.
I don't think i'll be joining any more comps for a long time. they aren't having a positive effect for me anymore. originally i liked them because it got me to finish something on time but now they seem to be causing me to create more projects than i want to. i still have several unfinished projects from previous comps or before comps so i would like to finish those up first before i start even more shit. Once the semester is over i want to get back to Termination. I know it's a rough game but i still enjoy working on it and i want to completely finish that game before moving on to anything else. My current comp project will be saved for later though. I've put in a handful of hours into it already so i do plan on finishing it eventually. (especially since i scripted out a whole storyline for it)well good luck to everyone else in the comp. i can't wait to see what games come out of this. Man i love horror :3
:/
I guess it's kinda good that you can still think up new ideas for comps though - at least you'll have no shortage of projects to work on. :pyeah that's true but it's gotten to be overkill now. i have WAY to many projects open that i haven't finished. just counting the RPG comp i started 3 different projects all very different from one another and requiring a lot of work. they're all decent ideas too that i would like to finish but what the hell do i do when i have this many projects?
than i gotta count this comp's project plus Termination, that's 5 projects just from that. I also had an old GB-style platformer i started working on over a year ago! and that was supposed to be a short project lol.i used to laugh at people when they told me they had 100's of GMKs and shit but now… i understand their pain.welcome to the club of creative pain and indecision, brother death
Butyeah, seems to me like the best way to deal with multiple projects is to just tackle one at a time - least ambitious first. That way you get at least something done. I have folders full of gmk/gm6/gm5 files, but most of them are crap so I'm fine with abandoning them. lolololI was going to be posting this blog just now… but what's the point if it's already been written. I can't find motivation for the competition, but I can find way too much motivation for my personal projects.
I'd be stupid to strain myself over this.I have 60 unfinished games :'(
I have 194 unfinished games. Get in line.
I sit on a tower of mockups.
You're out? I was never even in, not really
my excuse is focusing on studying but hey hoop da whoopy loopMega, remember how you got all depressed before the RPG competition and were ready to give up game making altogether and then I came along and convinced you otherwise and ever since then you'e been working diligently despite everything?
Yeah. Fuck you.
