Inspired to do stuff

I haven't felt much like working on 64D since I put the store in.

Ironically, the news post about the store said I had been trying to put something in the change log every day…And then that was the last change log entry I made.

Sad.

But, I've been really busy with other stuff - not the least time consuming of which, is King Arthur, the Role Playing Game, which was on sale for like $1 or something on steam.

That's not a good excuse, but at least it's not a "screw you guys, I don't want to code".

My g/f kicked me out of the house so she could have some friends and play some music loudly (I don't mind loud music, but, I mind THEIR music being played loudly). So, I hopped on a bus, and began the 2 hour trip to my office (it was the weekend), where I would go in, do some work, and then maybe spend the night under my desk. Since it kind of messed up what I was planning to do for the day, I grabbed my DS, and decided to start playing pokemon diamond - as I was not really in the mood to play civilization revolution.

Playing pokemon really inspired me to make a web-based pokemon game (as it does every time I play it), so I spent the evening at my office, researching pokemon, and finding a database of pokemon and data (I found www.legendarypokemon.net, which is an amazing site, made by a guy with an awesome attitude. you can download all the pokemon data and images that he's collected for free. I'd love to collaborate with him and make his resources a bit more programmer-friendly, even though he does have a programmer-friendly download already).

It was suggested that we bring back the RPG to get activity going again…But I'm thinking I might just code some a pokemon game for everyone to play and train.

The hardest part will be building the world - but I'm sure after I make a basic world, others will want to jump right in and design other, larger, worlds.

I don't really have it fully planned out, but I think it'd be a fun little thing for me to work on, that's not as tedious as 64D (which is usually quite fun, but I'm not really in the mood for 64D this month)

P.s. Cesque's blogs have been awesome lately - where he plays through a game, and writes about it. It's inspired me to find some game to play and do something similar - though I don't have the humor, or the followthrough to do that.

I played Rome: Total War a while back. I loved the game. The strategy element was just completely realistic and they did it in a fun, fast-paced way.
