I haven't felt much like working on 64D since I put the store in.
Ironically, the news post about the store said I had been trying to put something in the change log every day…And then that was the last change log entry I made.Sad.But, I've been really busy with other stuff - not the least time consuming of which, is King Arthur, the Role Playing Game, which was on sale for like $1 or something on steam. That's not a good excuse, but at least it's not a "screw you guys, I don't want to code".My g/f kicked me out of the house so she could have some friends and play some music loudly (I don't mind loud music, but, I mind THEIR music being played loudly). So, I hopped on a bus, and began the 2 hour trip to my office (it was the weekend), where I would go in, do some work, and then maybe spend the night under my desk. Since it kind of messed up what I was planning to do for the day, I grabbed my DS, and decided to start playing pokemon diamond - as I was not really in the mood to play civilization revolution.Playing pokemon really inspired me to make a web-based pokemon game (as it does every time I play it), so I spent the evening at my office, researching pokemon, and finding a database of pokemon and data (I found www.legendarypokemon.net, which is an amazing site, made by a guy with an awesome attitude. you can download all the pokemon data and images that he's collected for free. I'd love to collaborate with him and make his resources a bit more programmer-friendly, even though he does have a programmer-friendly download already). It was suggested that we bring back the RPG to get activity going again…But I'm thinking I might just code some a pokemon game for everyone to play and train. The hardest part will be building the world - but I'm sure after I make a basic world, others will want to jump right in and design other, larger, worlds.I don't really have it fully planned out, but I think it'd be a fun little thing for me to work on, that's not as tedious as 64D (which is usually quite fun, but I'm not really in the mood for 64D this month)P.s. Cesque's blogs have been awesome lately - where he plays through a game, and writes about it. It's inspired me to find some game to play and do something similar - though I don't have the humor, or the followthrough to do that.
I'll help out with that Pokemon project thing if you need it, I've got some experience with it.
Yes, legendarypokemon.net rocks.
And an online Pokemon game would be sweet.Edit2: moved to news.
Pokemon is like crack. 13 years ago when I was hussling cards, I probably made more from selling the cards than i could with crack - therefore Pokemon is worse. Except when the TCG was big people got really violent and protective in my school around them…which makes Pokemon even worse. Pokemon is worse than crack.
Wow… I started work on a web based pokemon engine this morning after thinking about it last night lol. Thats just weird.
I actually have an old idea for a web game that we could do on 64d, it might be fun. We should talk about it sometime =pKabob: Send me a PM. =D
The pokemon thing was kind of a whim. If you've got something serious, I'd love to help you out with it, or at least trade ideas. And I'm definitely interested in the web game idea.If you can find takua108, he's written a few browser-based games before.
Bringing back the RPG?
Score!Arc: I'll keep an eye out for him, lol.
I've done a lot of planning and documentation for a lot of browser based games. It's a lot of work, but it's actually fairly simple.Kilin: Have you ever played any Total War? It's like a rip off of that, only smaller, the units level up, there's spells you can do on the battle field (which are pretty cool), and there's text-based quests. I loved Total War * 1000, and King Arthur doesn't have the same feel, but it puts a very inovative and fun spin on the old Total War games. Maybe I'll restart, and do something like what Cesque did, which walks through the game. There's a lot of silly side quests and stuff, so I could make some commentary on it.But yeah, it's a good game, especially for something like $1 (or in your case, free)
