A GM example on Steam

Edit: Steam has removed the game. However, the google docs link still works.

This is probably the greatest thing I have ever seen. Everyone should give it a thumbs up so it actually gets put on steam.

House Fire Simulator 2013 - on Steam

Here's a link to the "Horrible Build" (according to the developer):

Download from Google Docs

He will make a "final build" if the game gets approved.

This guy is working to achieve what so many of us tried to do…

First we tried to learn to use GM, and realized it was too hard.

Some of us then went to the GMC and asked someone to make a game for us, and we'd put them in the game's credits (I personally skipped this step, as I wasn't smart enough to come up with such enticing ways for people to make me a game).

Finally, we realized that the examples on Mark's page (back before yoyo…Evidently the examples are still available on yoyo), and find sprites online, and decided to change the sprites, rename the file, and call the game complete.

At this point, you're sitting on a completed game. You dream of becoming famous. You can't even comprehend how many people will play your game, once you send it to Mark to put on his page. Imagine how popular you'll be when you submit it to the GMG, and Juju reviews it as the greatest game he's ever seen. This is the crowning achievement of your 11 year old life, and you are ecstatic.

At one point, I think Tankoz was on Mark's site…Or maybe it was a different game, I can't even remember.

You begin to think that if you managed to re-write this game in those mysterious languages that professionals use, like "Pascal", "C++", or "HTML", you could even get this game hosted in the big leagues, like gamehippo!

Now-a-days, you have Steam. Steam is the new version of having your game on (the now defunct) gamehippo (which I doubt anyone even knew of). And it's bigger than it too.

So please, if you have a steam account, vote for this game. Help this developer achieve what we never could, with our Click the Clown, and 1945 remakes.

Edit: The developer is updating the game comments a lot, so I added the link to the game.

Hehe. I'd personally like greenlight to remain credible so Valve doesn't start having second thoughts.

Aw, Cmon Steven.

Join the cool kids. It's just one little old button.

Ooh, burn.

I think it would be funny if it got put through.

I mean it's not as if anyone would actually buy it.

He hasn't +1'd this blog or any of its comments. Something's wrong. colseed, if you're going to walk into a crowded place and shoot everything that moves tomorrow, nobody's going care. We have far too many mass shootings these days. You're really going to have to put some effort into theatrics if you want to make the headlines. Maybe take a building hostage and threaten to kill someone every five minutes until Barrack Obama agrees to shoot an innocent man in the face on national television. And if he does it you kill everyone anyway.

Peer pressure.

Somehow I think Steven took me seriously. :P

Regardless of the people being agreed with, and the lack of +1ing from colseed (I'm worried), it seems Steam has taken it down. =(
