First Survey Results!

Posted by fprefect111 on Nov. 12, 2008, 6:58 a.m.

Hey guys, just figured I should let you know that I've finsihed collecting responses for the survey. In total, there were 1526 people who went to the trouble, around 40 or so were from 64Digits. Thanks again!

Anyway, here's the very simple, graph based on one section of the survey. As a warning, it's pretty biased - 30% of the responses were from Facepunch Studios. Just keeping you updated however :)

I'm yet to construct results on individual communities and based on singular groups. But that's yet to come, I'm only just working out how to juggle Excel and my database software.

Is 30% siginificant? Doesn't seem to be really, really silly to me.

Haha, my favorite is the highest on that list :p

I hate innovation. I want more of the same, all the time. The guy who innovated after pong was ruining a good thing.

Wow, I'm surprised to see Level Design and Modding pretty low.

Yeah, modding/level design was pretty high initially, but then I brought the survey over to non-developer/modder communities and it balanced out to where it is now.

Haha. Yeah, the next largest response was at 14% from the Escapist. 64Digits had 3%, with 40. As such I'm weighting the results, seperating the big forums and then grouping the smaller ones into similar categories. Not ideal, but better…

I'm actually really surprised at the low "Influenced by Hype" score, I think people just don't actually realize that they are influenced. Especially at somewhere like Facepunch where I would assume most people have been influenced by the amount of hype for Left4Dead.
