This is for all of you final fantasy fans out there. Final Fantasy 12, I got it for Christmas, and I'm still playing it. I'm 30 hours into it. I have found some really big issues with it which just don't make it like its predecessors. What Im trying to say is, Final Fantasy 12's characters are not deep enough, the story is not too interesting, and lastly, there aren't enough cut scene's which move the story along. All of these problems contribute to the big problem in the game. Lack of interest. I usually play it about 3 times a week for 2 hours a day, but I haven't played it for over a week now, and I really would like to, but there isn't anything keeping me or attracting me to it. I mean, does anyone remember final fantasy 7, or any of the other ones? You were so concerned about the characters that you couldn't get up from it at 2am on a school night. You wanted to know what will happen next. In this final fantasy, what you do is:
1. Go to town and stock up on supplies2. Go to a dungeon or a dangerous place and fight through several monsters to find an item.3. Watch a cut scene which moves the story along.4. Repeat…I don't know about you but it's getting annoying for me, It just isn't the same. Overall it is still a really good game… but it just isn't the same thing true fans are used to.On a side note though, graphics are amazing.
Isn't that 4 step cycle in like all of them?It was really evident like that in FF1,except no Step3.
I also dislike the battle system. =P But the graphics are so shiny, I can't help but play it more.

@atsurai=SHEESH!Why does everyone die for graphics…SNES ruled.NES just had system issues that wouldn't even allow good gameplay,normally.Z1 was amazing.
Yeah, I still love the old era graphics, but come on, you have to move on sometime… But I still love those old graphics… anyways, I like the battle system, its pretty good, I just don't like the lack of depth in the characters back stories, etc… BTW, NO ONE POST SPOILERS, I STILL HAVE NOT BEAT THE GAME!!!
Everyone loves graphics because they are good to look at. Do you want to stare at something ugly for hours??? Thats why Gears of War is pretty much the greatest game, gameplay + graphics. Oblivion pwns n00bs too.
Im guessing your not an RPG fan? Well RPG's arent always about graphics, they are more about the story really…
I don't know about you, but FF12 kicks major ass. Although I do see your point about FF7 having a superior story… because it does!
I didn't really like FFVII. I found there was nothing that compelled me to continue with the game. Samewith most of the other FFs… I usually stopped whenever I got up to an enemy that could kill my team in one hit, which I thought was just silly. FFX-2 is my fave FF game though.
FFVII was the best.
