Before I start talking about this, I would like to be the first to say that having a rugby team instead of a football team is a bit retarded… But since no one seems to realize that, I'll have to settle for rugby. I saw some of it before on TV, and have met a few people who play it. It seems a lot more rougher than football because there is no protection in it whatsoever. It has a touchdown just like in football, and a field goal likewise. I am not too familiar with the rules of rugby, but it seems like fun, and since there is no football team Ill have to settle for this. I am in grade 10 and the team will consist of grade 9's and grade 10's. This sort of seems like an advantage for me, but I am not the fastest runner (in fact I'm a horrible runner), its just not my thing. I am a very tough body checker though and am really good at tackling. That sounds like the perfect description of a rugby player, but as it turns out the team also needs speedy runners who can carry the ball. I will try the position in the strum (or whatever it's called). Thats the position where they drop the ball, and you have to get it loose and pass it to your runners. Anyways, I have no idea on how to play the game, but neither does anyone else trying out. I hope that my tackling will be enough to get me on the team, because like I mentioned before, I'm a slow runner (I'm a bit below average in running actually, but Im definatly not fast!!!)
Anyone out there play rugby? Anyone have advice? Anyone know the rules? I'd appreciate some help!!!
Yeah… well I missed the first practice cause I forgot to return my form… Either way, I think its gonna be too easy, I mean everyone on the team is so small now in comparison to what I was expecting. Should be easy… btw, Ill tape my ears hobomonkey XD.
Im on the team!!!
