what programing language should I learn

Well normally I try to stay away from 64digits from past experiences

But since Jakex is a total genius and I have been encouraged to make a blog post and give it another shot

Here goes

A lot has happened form my last blog posts

I went from the name FreeMiniGames to star light games

I even bought a domaign learned php

And learned how much html and css sucks

You can see the sight and all the lovely gm content at

http://starlg.com.

The hardest part about the web site programming was the uploader

and everyone says “it’s just another uploader like HostANetâ€?

Ya it does but it’s so damn hard to make the php and MySQL work together.

But w/e.

Well here’s a question for y’all (shoot me if I ever say that again)

I want to learn a new programming language besides php and gml

What one should I learn?

What one is easier for novices (I can do almost anything in gml)

What programming languages are like gml and php?

People say peryl and c++ but what do you say

GML is almost a direct clone of PHP, minus hundreds of functions and a class system (although, objects are pretty much their own classes).

I'd reccomend going with something from the C family. C++ is great, but might be a bit hard for someone not used to it, so C# is probably your best option. It's got a lot of horsepower, but it's still quite easy to learn. If you do decide on C#, you should try the Visual Studio Express (free from microsoft) rather than the SDK; it will make the learning process much more friendly.

I was looking for something that I could program aplications

C is much easier than C++, go for that.

I reccomend Brainfuck too. And Python.

Brainfuck is certainly an easy, friendly language.

I'd recommend C# though.
