hi guys im new here whatup
So I decided to blog about my game on 64Digits. Its written in C++ and currently hosted at http://code.google.com/p/lanartsYou can clone the git and should be able to compile using cmake on linux, windows, mac (mac not tested). I have a windows binary with all dependencies included below too of course. The game doesn't use any game engine, its just built on top of OpenGL and SDL. Essentially it aims to be a real-time rogue-like. There is an online component coming soon and is the main goal of the project. When finished it will hopefully be a co-operative action RPG with random generation and thoughtful gameplay that discourages grinding. The code is currently structured with .yaml files in the /res folder packaged with the executable. YAML is quite human readable, so if you wanted to change an enemy's stats you can, you can even hit F2 to have the game data reload while the game is runningCURRENTLY IMPLEMENTED:Fast game engine with collision system8 levels of randomly generated goodness8 monsters2 offensive spells, one that bounces off walls, one that bounces off multiple enemies3 stat -stat systemVarious items, HP potion, MP potion, scroll of haste, stat gain scrolls, weaponsSquare based permissive field of viewPathfinding for monsters, including monster wandering while you are out of sightRegenerate:Hold 'r' to rest while monsters are not in view.Pause:F4Reload level (Debug feature, stat loss):F3Reload game data (Debug feature):F2Speedup time (Debug feature):F1Items:1-9 use inventory slots, or click on itemNote: Weapons override older weapons, you lose the old weaponSpells:space - switch between spellsYou can use mouse oriented controls:WASD - movementmouse wheel - up & down stairsmouse left click - shoot current spellmouse right click - blink (50 MP, within field of view)Or keyboard oriented controls:arrow keys - movement< and > - up & down stairsj - shoot current spell at current targetk - switch targetBut unfortunately blink still requires the mouse as aboveHeres the demo:Fixed from initial posting !http://64digits.com/users/ludamad/lanarts.31.03.2012.zipHeres a screenshot:
