Grid Defender Update. Woot! more LSD for all :D

Posted by necromian on Jan. 25, 2008, 1:58 p.m.

Yay, another update. Formation mode, sandbox mode, score multipliers, survival mode, an exponentially increasing difficulty algorithm for arcade mode. The list goes on and on.

Unfortunately for some odd reason, half of the time people play this, it runs at half speed, while the rest of the time it runs at normal. So if when you open this and the FPS is running lower than a good 50+, then exit it and keep opening it until it runs faster. Unless of course it's just that your computer sucks, which might be the case ;D

Have fun -

Synchronization can do that

Josea 16 years, 11 months ago

That looks like a Geometry Wars clone.

necromian 16 years, 11 months ago

you're right, it is a geometry wars clone to an extent.

Also, serprex - so if I enable synchronization, it should always run at a decent frame rate if the computer's good? I'll have to try that.

No, synchronization causes FPS to lag with the computer's refresh rate. If it can't run at the computer's refresh rate, it usually ends up running at half the computer's refresh rate

It's at 15/60 because I was in debug mode and changed the room speed so I could take a better screenshot.

The menu could use a drop with that ugly gradient

Also, watch your use of surfaces. Should make more options, my computer couldn't handle the star surface

Erm… Great?

Yeah, that's one impressive algorithm right there.

necromian 16 years, 11 months ago

Yep, pretty much. I never said it was impressive, I just said it's there. Now could we please stop nitpicking about the parts of my post and actually talk about the game? I posted this for feedback, not to be critisized about my writing.

Critisized is criticized
