DoC Demo is here!

Posted by omicron1 on May 16, 2007, 8:49 p.m.

The Dawn of Civilization demo has been released to the public at this location; a 64Digits release is forthcoming, as soon as the file manager starts responding right.

System requirements (reposted for clarity):

* Recommended at least an NVidia GeForce 6600 or equivalent (128mb graphical memory)

* At least 512mb system memory

* At least 50mb free hard drive space for installation

* Windows Vista or XP

* Monitor capable of at least 1024x768 resolution

If you were one of the beta testers, please redownload the game. A lot has changed in the last week! Bugs have been fixed, interface features added, and even some particle effects! (Such as dust and mild blood effects)

There's a link to a "top-secret" image of one of my projects somewhere in this blog. See if you can find it!

Hm. Shame this computer is barely powerful enough to run MS Paint, or I'd check it out.

I couldn't play at all. =/

My specs:

Pentium M, 1.86 GHz with Centrino

1 GB of RAM

80 GB HDD with 25.1 GB left

256 MB VRAM

Got 8-12 FPS the whole time, it messed up in windowed mode. I couldn't play at all. I'll try it again.

The bottleneck is probably in your CPU in that case.

Probably. =/

Ya,I only have 256MBram

As for that secret image spot…well,there really is no place to put it but using lots of underlining would of workd better

Well, I wasn't exactly trying to keep people from finding it; that's why I put "quote marks" around the words "top secret."

I have found that DoC typically takes ~200mb memory when running. If you have that much consistently free, (Windows also uses quite a bit) you can probably run it.
