The DoC project is definitely my largest project so far, with 7,444 files (internal and external) created over a period of six months. These files come to a total size of 938 mb - a huge size for a GM project.
So, progress continues apace. I've recently created another building wallset (making 3 total so far - mud walls, wood walls, and "paper" walls) and some new architecture, as well as implementing several new buildings. Thus, for what it's worth, I present to you: The Eastern architectural style! (Large for eye-catching-ness)Buildings in picture:* 3rd era Eastern Temple (brick-walled building* 3rd era Eastern houses (1-story houses)* Stone Roads* Gardens* 4th era Eastern houses (2-story houses)* The Eastern wonder, the Pagoda. If you look closely, you can see the framerate in the upper-right corner - 30/30 frames per second.Life:My father's gone (to Hawaii), school's ramping down, and work is ramping up. College in a few months; Titan Quest is lots of mindless fun; nothing else to report.
Wow. That filesize surpasses most commercial games!
You will probably need to provide some sort of 'lite' version for those with slow internet connections. That's the project itself, not the download size.
Ohh I see. You've been very busy.
Very, very busy. How fast does it run with that amount of stuff?
Also, nice work on the Chinese stuff. I'm Chinese myself.Love the pagoda. Too bad this game crashes for me after a short time :'(
And you think it's nice? I must have done something right, then.
As the screenshot shows, the game is running (in that image) at 30 frames per second (max of 30)->Cesque: I think I caught that crash bug (not in any released version, though), so the full version shouldn't stall like that.
I'm Chinese as well. Everything looks okay for your game, but I don't really like the house textures, the wall and roof just don't cut it. A more woody texture would be better, and I'm not sure what you can do to the roofs, but they don't look right. Pagoda is nice.
Hmm…
Ok, maybe you could tell me what you dislike about the appearance on a piece-by-piece level. Here's an image showing the different wall and roof textures (randomly placed)Could you please tell me exactly which ones you think look bad?Ok, for the rooftops, I think they should have a ripple look to them, there's a blue texture I see at the bottom that has a ripple towards one side only - rooftops are wavy.
For the white square texture, get rid of the diagonal lines (in your first screens) and use the textures in your comment screenshot, where they cross through the window and outline the white. Color them dark red instead of that yellowish color. The wood looks too monotone, if you could use more of a gray color it would be nice, along with something else rather than straight lines. Random smaller straight lines or something. I don't know much about Chinese architecture but I do know they resemble what I said.
