So, I saw the 1 Grand prize for the YoYoGames competition, and decided to enter. So, I've been working for two days on my entry so far, and I have:
* Skeletal animation system* Weather effects* Basic game engine* 3 enemy types* 9 spells* 2 levels* 1 NPC* Basic interface+visual theme* A couple of gameplay "quirks"So, what is QVINTVS: Endless Winter? Think of it as an Action-Adventure/Platformer/RPG. You have your world exploration, you have your frenetic fights, you have your platforming segments, and you have your leveling system - all in one game. With a dollop of humor and an interesting story to top it off.Gameplay conceits (What makes it unique):* Temperature gauge. If you get too cold or too hot, you will eventually freeze to death/burn to death. This can be remedied by the eating of warm/cold foods; keeping active; or by moving into colder/warmer areas.* Full-fledged combat system - use swords, spears, axes, bows, and thirty different spells to defeat a wide variety of enemies.Projected game length: 4 to 8 hours.
Never satisfied…
Fine. New image, with 64d loader. It's a cool prize and all, but that keeps me from entering. I don't know why they'd pay that much.
I'd enter…maybe if I could get away from my projects. Good luck, omicron.Your game is probably going to rape everyone's entries ^_^
I envy you.
Sounds/Looks awesome, btw.@marbs: Yes, the prize intimidates me.
