As the general theme of Qvintvs: Endless Winter is derivative of the old superhero comics, I have devised several things to enforce that general idea while adding "wow factor" to the game itself. Many of them you'll have to wait for release to experience; but I will describe one of them in this blog.
First, some statistics:Levels: 15 of 25Enemies: 9 of 25Spells: 30 of 30Items: 0 of 20Next, some random images, including a mockup of my planned "post-DoC" project.Composite ImageNext, the feature:One thing I've thought might be useful/fun/original in action games is to create a movie from the gameplay. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to watch your own adventures in concatenated format (that is, without having to sit through death/retry sequences) when you've spent ten hours running through a game? It's possible with today's level of technology (look at Halo 3) and might add a lot to a game if done right. While I don't intend to create a complete real-time movie of the player's adventures through Q:EW, I do intend to provide the player with a souvenir of sorts upon successful completion of the game. This souvenir will take the form of a 50-60 page, full-color, HTML "comic book," compiling all the significant moments from your run through the game. The various comments by your character and guide; the conversations you have with NPCs; the first time you cast a new spell or slay a new enemy; plot-significant moments… all captured for posterity, bundled up six to a page, tied together with a sleek virtual cover, and made available to you, the player.I think it's a wonderful idea; but we'll have to see how it pans out.
Just curious, is DoC going to be free?
Yes. (Although if you like it, I'll have a donation channel set up by the time it's out)
Edit: 10k hits.
That IS wonderful idea! Is Qvintvs going to be 3D?
It's based off a comic book? That's new. Also, what's this "post-DOC" project?
cool
You're quite the game designer/creator omicron.
You keep making me feel jealous. :P
