Hey guys. I just wanted to throw this out there, and see who's interested in, or has time for a music composition competition. Of course, this one would (hopefully) be a lot more organized than the last one, and I'll actually have time to sit down and judge this one, because I don't need to do Wintermester, seeing as I passed all my classes.

If your piece runs a little long, that's fine, but please be aware of the fact that we've got to sit through and analyze every bit of your composition.ThemeThe theme is now Mystery!**Decided to change this to a challenge, because coming up with a ranking system for music is really difficult and could prove to be unfair. Each piece will receive individual feedback, but will not be ranked or compared.**********************************EDIT: Here's a list of the entries that have been posted thus far. I am posting ALL of the links that you guys have given us. Ambient was what I was going for anyway, but like I was trying to say in my last post was that I'll give it a try and I'll submit what sounds best to me. Also I'm getting excited for this, got any dates yet? :D
Edit: Steven's got a very good point actually, adventure actually allows you to put action into your themes, while here it'd be a lot harder because you can't really get a climax because it's, you know, space.Hmmmm….Good point. Alright. Well, our last theme was adventure. I'd like to do something a little different this time around, but I don't think that music to embody the emptiness of space will be an easy thing to compose, or to listen to.
edit because I was ninja'd: Yeah, we need dates for this. I'd like to wrap up this competition by at least January 22nd, as in all judging done, and everything settled. That's my first day of the spring semester. Is this possible?I haven't done any composition in a while, so what the heck why not
though i have no doubt steven will disqualify me for lack of spacinessHm, tragedy could work. First person to make me cry wins? :P
I don't really know about graveyards, though…that sounds too specific. And every graveyard I've ever been to was totally silent.imma maek the breast song evar
Edit:January first should be a good starting point with that finish date.Totally adding that. xD
hargle blargle space shouldn't be the theme
Rather, maybe I'll spend more than 15 minutes on the next attempt.I'll second the emotion-evoking theme. I've always wanted to try to bring people to tears with music. As long as you aren't boring me to tears, that is. Boring me to tears will not give you the win.
Hm, that actually sounds pretty interesting. Can we take a vote on it? I like the tear-jerker piece idea.I vote for
negativeheartfelt emotions.
