Behold…the fearful temper arises from the depths of somewhere bad again! This time, this Rant-n-Rave is dedicated to those "geniuses" who think that video games are the source of wars, world hunger, excessive violence, global warming and AIDS in Africa.

Seriously, these geniuses need to do some BIG research. I mean, I'm next to absolutely sure that the only reaosn they're blaming video games is because they have nothing else to blame. The only reason they're blaming these is that they see that kids spend SO much time with them and enjoy video games to death. Those associations of Uptight Volvo-driving Soccer Moms claim that video games provide dangerous amounts of enjoyment and entertainment. Obviously things that entertain kids that much HAVE to be bad.

It happens with everything basically. Before the era of video games, it was TV, and before TV it was music. As soon as kids and teenagers "dig" something that they like to death, lifeless parents and idiotic government people and associations begin to say that those things are the sole reason that there isn't peace on earth.

Not only do these people say that video games are bad, but they do it with such confidence despite the fact that they know NOTHING about these things! I'm going to take a personal experience as an example. A friend of mine showed me a brainless article where the genius author states that the reason boys like video games above girls is that if they lose, defeats are private since boys hate public defeats.

And at this idiotic statement, I have my WTF flag. Apparently, entertainment values don't play ANY role in the enjoyment of video games whatsoever. We merely play games simply because the defeats are private, right? W-R-O-N-G!!! Hey Einstein, have you ever heard of Online playing? What do you think THOSE are? What's the word I'm looking for…PUBLIC! So that alone refutes the entire article. Do your research next time!

Seriously, these people think they know the source of violence in video games, but that's NOWHERE near where violence comes from. How about those news programs with the slogan "If it bleeds, it leads?" Every night, thousands of reports are broadcast about how some girl got raped from MySpace, people got killed, brains got slaugthered, blood flies everywhere, people get shot, etc. etc. After thousands of those reports, people are obviously going to get immune to violence. So go after those shameless news stations instead of harmless video games! Games like Doom and GTA aren't the only games around, there's Civ IV, Spore and SimCity. How the hell can THESE games be the cause for school shootings?

Well, there you are. I guess I feel somewhat better about this entirely retarded issue. Maybe someday people will realize they're idiots and stop blaming video games for being the cause of the world's problems.
