Dear Parents and Students:

It has come to our attention that a hacker has gained access to our networks at school, and has locked us out of our system. The intentions of this hacker are unclear, and we are also unable to identify him. Nevertheless, damage has been done to our system, to which extent we do not know. Therefore, for our student’s safety, we are going to lock down the school computers until the problem is fixed, and security software is updated. We do this not as a punishment, but as a way of making sure that potential personal information is not collected by this hacker.

What reportedly happened today was that all computers on the network were crashed, and then when students tried to use their computers it shut them down. This not only affected students but the teachers as well. This poses a great deal of concern that the hacker was able to access all of the computers at once, and potentially obtain and change grade information.
