Remember that prank i pulled 2 days ago?
well, yesterday they sent home a letter to us. Here is what it said.
Quote: Administrative Zeroes
Dear Parents and Students: It has come to our attention that a hacker has gained access to our networks at school, and has locked us out of our system. The intentions of this hacker are unclear, and we are also unable to identify him. Nevertheless, damage has been done to our system, to which extent we do not know. Therefore, for our student’s safety, we are going to lock down the school computers until the problem is fixed, and security software is updated. We do this not as a punishment, but as a way of making sure that potential personal information is not collected by this hacker. What reportedly happened today was that all computers on the network were crashed, and then when students tried to use their computers it shut them down. This not only affected students but the teachers as well. This poses a great deal of concern that the hacker was able to access all of the computers at once, and potentially obtain and change grade information. If you have any information, please contact the administrative board.
Aaaahahahhaaha… Don't you just love it when you gain control over the Teachers? I'm still planning an attack on my computer-network-system… It's so weak and I know i'll find a few vulnerabilities in the workings sometime soon; Already the stupid network is setup to go through like all 300 computers looking for user details, BEFORE going to the actual server computer… so screwed.
-RhysHehe, that's just awesome. So DAMN AWESOME!
Making it sound worse than it is is both funny and scary. If they find out who did it, it's probably expulsion for sure (and possibly a cyber terror arrest from the NSA [:P])
Normally, I'd condemn pulling a prank like this, but it made me realize how absolutely pathetic the security of school networks are. Maybe they deserve it for being so careless. They're supposed to be "professionals", after all.
I still discourage such acts though. As Fred said, it's too dangerous to consider it all fun. Fun also shouldn't come at the pain of others - it's cruel. Not to mention that you're taking advantage of others only for your own sake of seeking pleasure.Hehe. I wouldn't kill any systems at this time… I'd merely have them shut down on people. XD
There's a reason I want SS32's school's email though… I'd like to tell them about how they exaggerated what happened so badly, etc.my whole class found out one of the master password for the computer's and thats basically every computer in school! now all we need to find out is the real master password and i can hack into the whole system
and say that everyone in my class is 30 years old and they should leave school lol!Allright i returned control of their networks… i had to stay home from school today to do it (dont worry i cleared my IP and actions from all applicable logs… i cant get caught now can I?). Apparently things are returning to normal with the networks… except the administrative account no longer exists. You have to be physically on the administrator server to make network changes… and im not about to do that. Also, user account permissions have been limited, reportedly you are no longer able to right click, if the program explorer even acesses th C drive, it will kick you off, and a few other virusscan and netscan applications have been updated.
Melee… no email for you. If they got the message this whole ordeal would be started up again. I already took th leisure of leaving them an explanation text file (on the C drive) of what happened. And also melee… dont try a network format unless you know what you are doing. Erase the wrong thing and you will lose years worth of records and important files. That is sort of beyond the border of funny. And, Joe, there was another reason: I hate the school librarians and technicians. They are mean to me and really dont know what they are talking about.
And he has the good behavior badge too…
