Ah, if you spent any time on the irc, or around me at all. You know how much time I have put into making this game, I fell that this is THE BEST game I have ever made in GM. But wait, it's not even close to being finished! I was going for a megaman meets cavestory kind of feel, so here's the first level, with a rewarded boss at the end :D

The game is pretty cool. I didn't notice any glitches, the the movement was smooth, and the graphics were consistent, so I have nothing to complain about. I like the style of your graphics, it all fit together nicely, and the shading style is cool. The gameplay was good, through I wasn't too fond of the boss. It wasn't hard, but it did involve a lot of mashing the X button. I prefer my bosses short but difficult, but that's just me. Other than that, nothing I didn't like about it. Can't wait for the finished product. :)I like the style of the graphics and effects - very arcadey. The only thing I would suggest is maybe changing the color of the HUD and enemies to make them stand out a bit. Also, there might be a bit too much dithering which makes the metallic surfaces look rough. Other than that, this game is very promising.
There are only a few problems i had with it:
Graphic wise add less deatil to the background (like less colors) and change the some of the colors (maybe change the background color to a dark blue or purple and make it so everything isnt grey). Gameplay wise I felt like I could get through the level just by jumping over the enemies.Other than that it really did feel like a megaman game and I do see a lot of potential. Keep up the good work and I hope to see the final product. Also awsome boss :DIf I was not on a Mac I would probably download this.
Cool nitrome-like graphics. Though I think the enemies could use a little more colour here and there.
Maybe it is just my laptop, but the jumping felt like slowmotion. I'd like it a bit more realistic, but I don't see any other feedback about that so it is probably just my laptop…I like the look, but the overhead display shouldn't be the same color as the foreground.

Though, as has been said, lower the detail in the background a bit. Make the HUD a different colour. And maybe add some individual random variation to the gray block's colors (e.g. image_blend = merge_color(c_black,c_white,0.8+random(0.2)).
