New.Gm - Alpha 1.0!

Just for 64digits members only so far… New.Gm has been released as a shitty hack-job alpha!

http://steverolfe.com/newdotgm/newdotgm.exe

Everyone who put in a non-ip address for the nameserver's ip field will be omitted until their account has been updated (just pm me for now, I'll finish the script later).

Also realize that unless your webhost has a dns zone file for your .gm domain then it will NOT work. Just create an addon domain or a new account for your .gm domain name (if your host fails at life, then use coreFusion, http://core-fusion.net/forums).

To update local DNS records:

Just leave the client running, or it will update on each startup (of the client). Eventually I'll make it minimize and have fun like that, but not yet… Too lazy so far.

I'll restate this, YOU MUST HAVE ADDED ON YOUR .GM DOMAIN, OR REGISTERED IT WITH A SEPARATE ACCOUNT! If you do not then your .gm domain will not resolve properly!

And don't give me bullshit like "Well thats why we have a DNS system in place… etc", blah blah blah. Just tell me what you think of it.

If you still haven't registered your .gm domain name, then just do so IN FIREFOX ONLY (for now) at:

Enjoy.

I'm not angry at all, I'm just telling you that pushing this idea is likely a waste of time for the reasons I said. That said, good luck with it.

If you stop and look at the big picture, there's a reason I'm developing this application. Think about it.

Probably.

At this point, is it possible to use a .gm domain? If so, show me one.

Your little client has issues, buddy. Says you're missing a DLL file. Yes, I extracted. There's only ONE DLL.

Well, what can you say? Free domain names are hard to come by these days.

@Kilin

You're the only one experiencing this issue, plus there is no extraction going on…

@basil

new.gm works but i meerly made it point to an existing site for the time being.

www.of.gm - hosted as addon domain of my core-fusion hosted website =P

I plan to have world.of.gm somewhat like del.icio.us (as in how the url is formed)…
