[l]S[/l][sc]ome of you may or may not remember a product that came out in 2000 called the :CueCat. This was[/sc] basically a personal barcode scanner given away for free by a company named Digital Convergence. This company's goal was to allow people to lookup barcodes/ISBNs/and :CueCodes (their version of a barcode) all from home. If you read an ad that had a :CueCode and scanned it then it will take you to their webpage basically (as well as if you hooked up your TV to computer like they said then your computer would receive an audio signal from the ad that would open a browser window on your computer).
Needless to say the idea was a flop. They went bankrupt and their site shut down shortly after.Currently i am remaking the application that will retrive scanned codes, decrypt and submit them to a website that will present you with data about that product. Its almost ready to be beta tested but to test it you MUST have a :CueCat (you can pick them up for a couple of dollars on eBay). It will also be able to catalog data, such as the CD's you own.-Steve
I suppose so… Then again i think a ton of eBay people sell them NIB.
-SteveDamn… Used to have one… well my dad did. SOOOOOOOO Old
Let me rephrase myself:
I KNOW THEY ARE OLD! But im still reviving them [=D].-Stevenews anchor: in other news, a guy by the name "smarttart62" has become the richest man on earth by reviving the flop of the :Cuecat, how do you feel Steve?
