Macross
I think I'll be using the music of Aurora which is…http://www.ramaditya.com/mp3.htmThat.You Know…You know what sucks about life? Once you learn how hopeless something is, you give up and screw it up even further. I don't think I need to tell of any examples considering almost every blog of mine has one.But yeah, I noticed that when light reflects off human eyes, they like shine. It gives a somewhat beautiful effect when it's happening to the girl I like. Whoo. Kruti. >>Then I stare. Her little face is just so adorable that I choke on my stupidity at how I handle my crush on her.Then again, it's hopeless. I shouldn't really care how my relations with her goes. It's pretty much really bad. Not enemy bad thankfully. Pretty sure I could change it to that easily though.Yeah. I feel like writing my blog about how wonderful she is but that'd be annoying and boring.Macross 2I decided to do something risky. Kuu Yubi Mode will have leveling up and take place in one huge dungeon. Basically, it'd be almost nonlinear considering you have to beat all bosses first and collect some relics to progress to the FINALE.Basically, Kuu Yubi is like a Metroidvania except I expect it to be more nonlinear with many branching paths. That will prove to be quite the bitch. Yes. I like saying bitch.The Main Mode will contain no leveling up and be quite linear. Of course to stray from boringness, Main Mode will have a quest system, items, and etc.As I said before though, most areas in Main Mode will not be connected and will be acessed via a level hub/world map. I'm thinking going to towns won't land you in a new map but provide a list of options like Talk, Shop, and etc.I'm also thinking of creating some of Striker system. That's when you can call allies to appear to aid you in attacks. Like I do a Weak-Weak-Strong combo with my Tabar Zin and launch the enemy in the air. I hit the Striker button or actually it might be the Weak+Strong buttons together, and Akemi comes out to do a Shoryuken on the enemy in the air. Strikers will be changeable of course and drain mp. It would add a bit of stragety in attacking I assume.There might be three types:Offensive: A single attackSupport: Healing, boosting statsFamiliar: Calls forth an ally and they stay fighting with you until you press the Striker button again.I'm not really sure about Familiar. It has the potential to be very overpowered. Might make it drain mp or something.So yeah, I made a very easy area in Holy Macross. It's very very easy compared to Surairguichi (the last demo's area.)I showed a screeny of it already. In case you did not see and are lazy:I'm not sure if I wanna make it the starting area though. I'll probably remake the Kyushu Base (first demo area).So, yeah. Jellyfish wants to help with programming. :DThis is a Jellyfish blog:http://64digits.com/users/index.php?userid=jellyfish&cmd=comments&id=14497He's an awesome programmer. Can't wait to abuse him to better Holy Macross. :DQUEST FOR GOLD AND SILVER!1. Played a 2D Metroid or Castlevania?2. Played King of Fighters?3. Played Chaos Seed?4. Actually listened to one of Aurora's songs?5. Want DFortun81 to give me a cookie? (YES)
1. Yes
2. No3. No4. No5. Don't knowI don't screw up in life.1. Nope.
2. Nope.3. Nope.4. Nope.5. They're my cookies! >=O1. Nope
2. Nope3. Nope4. Nope5. Sure, why not?Very nice screenshot, I'm liking that tileset and especially the background. If you're having programming troubles, especially with any sort of platformer, then realize that programming folks like myself are always up to helping such an avid sprite artist like yaself.
Good luck on HM, I'm definitely gonna keep my eye on this one. Oh… point of advice, don't go jumping right into using other games' music though, because this area is plentiful with music composers who are dying to write some keen tunes for a game like this. And I'd prefer to see this baby with it's own original soundtrack. Just work on the game, and once you've got something real nice to show, then come back about a music artist, and I bet you'll have them climbing all over you.Peace,ChevyRayTip#3 Worshipping a girl who rejected you is not healthy. Egt over it.
Tip#4 Be good at life…. or you'll die.I have the staring problem sometimes with my crush, but unlike in your case she is my friend too and not almost an enemy. And she flirted with me before she started going out with her current boyfriend.
My current girlfriend and I were best friends before we fell in love, and still remain strong friends even with the relationship at hand. I never stared at her, or obsessed about her… heck, I was almost surprised to find out that I was in love with her when I did, and it was even scarier taking the chance of destroying the friendship, which luckily never happened.
Either way, what I'll say is that you should really learn to appreciate and respect the finer points of the person you like before you go any further. Like, I hear people craving and staring and really being sexually attracted to others… but does anybody here really want a relationship with somebody that does not respect them, understand them, or will even love them after a period of time? You could have the most shapely girl in the world, and in years to come, you'd find yourself so turned off by her actions that you didn't even notice she was "hot" anymore.If you're looking for someone to love, you've got to learn to appreciate and respect the people you want to know better. If you can bring them to tears of joy with your words, you're in a much better place than if you can get them in bed, and you'll surely enjoy what's to come a lot more as well.I plan on staying in my current relationship until marriage, and I hope the rest of you can find the such. Either way, that's my words of advice, good luck.ChevyRay1. Yep
2. At one point3. Possibly4. Yeah5. I stole them =)
