First of all, hey guys! Its been a while. School has kept me busy, that is for sure.
So I guess its update time for anyone who is interested. I'm now a junior (credit wise) in college, prospective CS, but my school is seriously messed up. The CS program is super competitive here. I'd be fine with that, but their admittance criteria is bullshit. I went and talked to an adviser, who said that, despite my admirable performance in the intro CS series and doing 12 hours of programming a week for a cancer research lab, my CHEMISTRY GRADE from my first quarter at college were one of the main factors for my rejection.Perhaps I am unaware of current practices in computer science. Do you guys balance chemical reactions much in your code often. :/ That'd suck if I'd have to transfer just to take the degree path that I want.Regardless, winter break is just two midterms and three finals away! I can't wait for some time off…[tyler] My inability at balancing chemical reactions is f@#$ing up my algorithms??

That's ridiculous. Complain formally with your parents' backing.
is science not chemistry? but yeah that sucks D: well at least I know I can't do what you did and balancing chemical reactions is easy if you do it for the millionth time.
Balancing chemical reactions are simple.
That's stupid. Go back and complain.
Also, you're not supposed to balance chemical reactions in your code, you're supposed to balance sleep and coke :)i hope you mean the drink, Josea <_<
Of course :)
Chemistry requires measuring and conversion (kinda usefull but you can learn that stuff anywhere), also many CS majors need to know the components of metels and acids used to make a computer. Regardless chemestry is very insignificant and shouldn't hold you back. Give them a letter full of angry faces >:(
GIT BACK HERE
Yeah, balancing reactions is easy. I was just commenting on how its bullshit that they look at your chem grades as much as your cs grades here. I talked to a CS person at Gonzaga U today, and she said that my school (UW) has some of the most fucked up department admittance practices.
Any CS school suggestions?? :DProtest until you get it your way.
