[MEGA] F4D Entry

Posted by Astryl on Dec. 22, 2011, 1:16 a.m.

I'm not going to bother using the Submit page just yet. Because I dunno how long it'll take to be accepted, and I want to get it out now.

Anyway, here we go:

Name: Epic Christmas

Genre: Platformer

Made with GM, using my own DLL's, etc. Hooray. Now play it (Readme included in the zip).

Not reeeeeally, and I prefer that you don't, but I'm not going to kill anyone who does it.

I picked that up yesterday. It's a Windows 7 problem with the GME library, apparently, which I'm _trying_ to fix. It's actually a function I tried to implement that checks if a track has ended, so I can probably make a temp fix soon…

Yeah, people commented that the game was too hard, but what I liked about it is that it REALLY is almost impossible to win if you don't start to recognize the patterns and timings of attacks - just like Megaman and other awesome platformers.

I found it impossible to measure the difficulty of my own game, and I didn't have any volunteers to test it (local IRL testers, that is). Personally, the game wasn't challenging at all. Glad people are enjoying it.
