If you're not in the know, Optifine is a mod, or 'tweak' for Minecraft that can vastly increase performance on a majority of machines. I'd highly recommend it.You can use Optifine with Feed the Beast, but there's a slightly different installation method than is the norm.First, download FTB Ultimate.Second, download Optifine 1.4.6 HD U D5Take the zip that you download, and put it in the <wherever you told FTB to install>\Ultimate\InstMods folder.You are now done.

What difference is there between this and technic/tekkit?
Only a few mods have been added/removed, other than that, it's quite similar.
That sounds like too much in a single world. There would be no theme.
I'll admit I've missed the past few MC marathons, but was there ever an underlying unified theme? Besides, with the neat minds 64digits has to offer, an MC world powered by this Feed the Beast mod might become a sight to behold. All I'd be capable of doing would be lagging the server by building quarries as far as the eye could see.
It would be a survival marathon, naturally. And there hasn't been much of a theme, besides the Castle Wars.

About twenty times for me. If this is an incessant problem, I think Tekkit/Tekkit Lite may be the best route.
Somebody should start distributing these launcher based games via BitTorrent if their servers can't handle this sort of thing…Ok so it seems like this is something we should do. Shall I set a date? Is next weekend too soon or shall we aim for the weekend after that? Ill set a time if either of those weekends work.
EDIT: also, since FTB is such a big event it will need to be longer than a day or two. Are we prepared to stick with it?Next weekend is open as far as I'm concerned. Anybody with objections? And the usual time? (Around 9-10PM GMT?)
I'd say next weekend is too soon. We recently had a marathon and it died fairly quickly. I think people would be more interested if our marathons were spaced out a bit more.
