Mega's SHMUP in Progress

Just tidied things up a bit by sweeping it under the proverbial carpet. Ergo, the hide tags.

I finished this little piece off, which I am thinking of using for the game:

Oh, and I made a simple 'fodder' enemy that snakes around then barrels downwards. At the same time, I made a simple 'spawner' that parses a string that looks something like this:

"<ssss>ssss##^ss<ss>ss###L"

Where the 's' stands for that enemy I added, the <^> are directions to spawn in, # is a delay, and L loops back to the beginning. Makes things far easier than attempting to use timelines.

I noticed this earlier, when Googling 64Digits on my brothers computer. Seems to be constant, even in anonymous browsing; I find this highly amusing:

So Rez, Daggerhog, Ferret and myself apparently count as categories, and my last blog is somehow the site's description.

I think I mentioned that I joined that One Game a Month thing a while back, and I nearly forgot about it thanks to the veritable mountain of competitions, jams and events that have been taking place recently. So with only five days left, I started making a SHMUP.

Have some progress screenshots:

Added some more shots. Here's the Background I just partially re-drew to acommodate the new screen size:

I accidentally drew this planet, by the way. I was originally trying to draw a nebula. But I like this better. Also, zoom in to see unintended mountain ridges.

And here's a screenshot of work so far. I'm busy adding in all the weapons and the experience system that I'm borrowing from an old SNES shooter called Imperium.

And with that, the weapons are finished. Now onto the next important bit (besides explosions): the enemies!

For me, instead of Mega there is Change Log!

(I didn't even realise we had a change log).

Lmao, what? Examples is like full-on corrupt. Everyone overlooks Rules.

The only user I get is Ferret.

Changelog, IRC, Games (1), Rules and Examples.

Also in relevance, that shmup looks really pretty.

I'll probably play it when it's done.

But only for about 5 minutes because I don't like / suck at shmups.

Give it cool chiptune music and I'll make it 10.

Of course I'm giving it cool chiptune music! I wouldn't release it without the music! =P
