64Brawl Video, YYG Winter Comp [Kilin]

Anim8or and U3D

So I've picked up external 3D modeling. 'Tis a blessing compared to what I was doing before.

Draw an ellipsoid for each foot

Use x, y, and zrotations to make them animate

All sorts of other crud

Now I use Anim8or to do my modeling and animation. It is giving me flowery bliss and mass amounts of happy goodness.

Only problem is…I've talked to Abacus and he suggests that I use U3D to import sequences, as D3D can't manage it…at all. Even so, I can't use a program like Marzipan to convert the 3DS files to OBJ files. It won't convert sequences. This means I'll have to be pretty dang creative with my model importing, or I need a new program.

Are there any recommendations for a model converter program for U3D?

Lixies Adventures

Now, I've been doing a lot of work on Lixies Adventures, mostly trying to satisfy serprex on visual appeals. Using Andes' platform engine, I've perfected movement, which is a blessing to me.

YoyoGames Winter Competition

Giving up 3D now. As far as I've heard, 2D is more preferred by staff anyway. Oh, well.

Lixies idea in 2D then.

STARTING ALL FREAKING OVER!

NO! I've gone through too much. Regardless, the show must go on!

64Brawl

64Brawl is coming along nicely. I hope to have it up and going for a multiplayer online test. Serprex will probably help me with that. This means, I need people who want to accept the exe and a few other things for a server test. Yayz.

Two weeks ago was attempted, but hopefully this weekend will be more successful.

Oh, yes, here is that video I promised so long ago. Enjoy, comment, etc.

Low-quality, yes. This video is better than the last.

Yayz?

Peace out,

Hey, I'll take the exe and help you test it. That is, if you want my help.

Those nades need more red

And you still need to revamp the AI

Heh, looks promising. I'll help if you need any, I love making platformers. Also, how do I get in 64Brawl?

Castypher 17 years ago

@Serp: AI's fine now. ;)

@sk8: You don't. It's a matter of whether you have any games posted here AND if you're a respectable member.

Needs moar Aster.

I'm pretty respectable… I respect myself. As fr posting games here, yeah I have a tenancy to never complete any shit.

Castypher 17 years ago

@Obel: Dude, get me some spritesv and I'll implement them right away. I look forward to that.

@Sk8: I, for one, have a game with characters I can use. Do you? And…err…respectable is a bit of a different meaning. More like very well-known for good doings.

Sk8 does good doings by weeding out terdmunchers who can't take a slap in the back

Yes, Use the U3D model viewer. ( http://u3d.xinto.net/?Categorie=Downloads&SubCategorie=Utilities&Style=Classic )

You can import the model and textures and it will be stored in the U3d model format. You can even give them passwords.

Just as a note. When importing the model, put all the animations in one sequence because U3d cannot separate sequences.
