Why Not?

Here's my pixel art.

This is Shaion, the final boss of the game.

Currently in the process of animating it. Seeing as I'm no spriting god, that sprite alone took me about twenty or thirty minutes on coffee, and isn't glossy or amazing in any way.

However, this is my style which I've come to love, and I have to say that since the RPG competition, I've improved in many aspects of pixel art, including speed.

In RPG news, I wanted to post a video covering all the classes. But I couldn't think of an easy way to annotate as well as record from both the mic and speakers. So instead, have some screenshots. Because why the fuck not?

This time around I'm showing the stealth class, the Shadowlurker.

This is the Shadowlurker's special move: the ability to summon a clone that will fight for you for a short time.

Visual distortions in the Terminal Band.

The lovely screen of death.

The first zone of the Aethereal Band, the badlands. Still…a work in progress.

This one's the Skirmisher. He can place a smoke bomb to briefly become stealthed while in the area, and block some projectiles.

The Skirmisher's special is a ring which ups his power while he's inside it. Also, the saverune

The Particle Artist has some lovely sustain if you empower his moves.

The Particle Artist draws a pentacle.

Empowering it increases the effect. With full Astral Force (which increases the density of your next spell), this attack is pretty fucking powerful.

MAN I SUCK.

My favorite classes at the moment are as follows:

Shadowlurker: The stealth class, capable of quick escapes and powerful attacks.

Skirmisher: The mobility class, able to fight at a distance or close the gap for a quick strike.

Particle Artist: The ranged class which uses tons of bullets to strike enemies while staying at a safe distance.

Two and a half weeks to go, guys. Here's hoping this'll be finished in time.

Learn the circle alpha tile technique… your tiles look like balls.

On that note, I made the word circle alpha tile technique up. But it's a real thing, promise :<

I prefer the triangle technique.

I think ChIkEn is talking about your dirt tiles.

But yeah, the circle alpha tile technique- it's the shit and I've only just learned about it!

This looks fun, and I like the graphics.

Why are you using the star of david to draw pentagrams though?

looks pretty cool. graphics are a bit too smooth for my taste but colors defiantly represent the scenes well. i'm interested in how the combat actually feels though.

Maybe he means that the colors represent the scenes in a rebellious manner.

I've been refraining from commenting on devlogs because although I see the problems I can critique, I don't program so I don't know if they're even fixable.
Doesn't matter. Outside feedback is still feedback. By all means, if you see something that can be improved, let me know. However, if it doesn't get addressed, it's more likely that it's because I didn't have the time, rather than me just ignoring it.

Shut up man. I've commented everywhere that I'm not a graphics artist. >=[

Though I think I see the meaning of your newly created term!

I didn't actually know what you were talking about until I looked back up there.

I'll leave it in as a mystery, and it will bug you everyday forever.

In short guys, tile art is getting to be a bigger weakness than even character animation at this point, which is strange. If I weren't so pressed for time, I'd love to go back and improve the graphics. They've already been improved a lot since Purianite set the stage for me with some of his touch-ups.

This sounds and looks brilliant.

The boss reminds me of Zhao from Deus Ex: Human Revolution for some reason, and that reason might be me playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution. She also looks like she has pants on her head.

Yeah, I've been thinking about switching out the bow for something else. Her head just looked a little…bare.
