So, here's a look at some of the early gameplay and game's opening [after the intro animations, of course]
You'll notice the new HUD, it's much cleaner. Also note the 'z' icon to the bottom right of the screen, it illuminates when the Z button can be used when interacting with a door, ladder, elevator, control panel etc. Here's a video of the gameplay, as you can see I've made quite a lot of progress.Sorry about the poor quality, does anyone have any suggestions for recording better? For sharper clarity:Depths is beginning to play like a real game. Sections of the game are becoming fully finished piece by piece.Questions/Comments/Suggestions?QUOTE OF THE DAY:Science flies people to the moon. Religion flies people into buildings.
is the game complex enough to need tutorials?
O:
Well, this first area kind-of is a tutorial. However, I also thought it was a bit wordy. The messages are actually coming from his ship's AI. the ship released a probe if you didnt notice that will function like a sort of GPS and global sensor. I agree as well, to add more visual ques and less words, especially with the elevator. I also but these crates in the way of the control panel that have to be destroyed. It's small, but yea. Just think I'll remove the message bout the elevator being out of power and just make the control panel glow when you're over by it.
Rather than just making it go dark, it'd be even more indicative if you made the lights flicker before going out.
Just know that these are little aesthetic details. By all means, don't postpone your game for minor things like these. It's just to make it feel better, and it already feels great.I want to play this…ugh.
It's funny, I had so many projects I said I'd finish in the past and never did… I was just reading some of my really really old blogs lol
