DSG: Wasn't implying you'd pay someone, that was just an example of how much developing games costs in terms of man-hours. And I second the idea that this does not really seem like a game that would do well on mobile platforms.
You know,I'm not too concerned about the touch screen. I can program many things differently for touch; for example, eliminate the need for the "Z" key [interact] and replace it with touchable prompts on screen. Also, the use of gestures instead of different keystrokes, etc.
Why not just skip the handheld release altogether and go for a PC and Mac release though?
I like the idea of touchable things on-screen. That's a tidy solution.
The question for me is how you'll move the character.Guh, obviously you'd just tilt the screen whichever way you want to go.
Lol that would be so terrible.Please do not do that.Have the ghost analogue stick. Where you touch the left hand side of the screen becomes the anchor point then the distance from that point is the speed/direction you move in. So you could maybe have him walk at half pull and run at full. And ignore the y axis and just have a jump button on screen.
@Charlie Carlo: Hahaha, that would be a fitting control scheme if you were playing as a drunk trying to navigate your way home without falling over haha. But, I think a touchscreen analog stick is the best I can do, basically like eagly just said.
