lighting engine
well, i rewrote it, and this time all that is needed to make an object a lightsource is a single script.what's cool now is that you can set the resolution of the shadows, which can greatly increase the speed if you don't need 1:1 resolution shadows.(same scene, 20 lights)1x here [258 fps]0.5x here [450 fps]0.25x here [590 fps]oh, and i don't think i showed you guys what the lighting engine looks like in first person.dungeon crawler [old lighting system, much slower] dungeon crawler 2 ancient ancient 23d collision enginethere's not really much to show, and it's quite slow as i'm only using gm code.physicsi may end up just scrapping this and using a dll like gmnewton, or gmogre.ancient templebeen working on this a lot recently, as i've currently got MisfitChris doing my music!currently, we're just finishing up the sprites, (as you can see the player sprite is still 16x, our artist is working on a 32x version)we've also got someone working on concept art for the game, so expect to see some of that soon!8bitworldit's a procedural rpg we've been working on for about the past 3 months, it's scheduled for release quite soon, as all we've got left are a few bugs to work out.here, have some screenshots.and that's all, just wanted to update you guys.
I want to play this o__o
Oh also, if you need a bit of side help with the models, I'm open for it. Although I'm close to useless when it comes to UV unwrapping and texturing lol.All of this is brilliant! Ancient Temple is top notch quality, I love how vibrant the lighting makes the game look.
Minecraft ripoff!
This looks nothing like Minecraft.
Looks more like a Call of Duty ripoff if you ask me.I love how everything that looks like something mainstream has to have been ripped off, just because it's not as popular.
sickening, really.i'll just assume Gradius is smoking a narcotic white rock.
i've also just posted the demo to the gmc, check out the topic here!Oh man, that temple looks incredible! I'll go check it out :)
It's an exploration game!! :D I am so going to be playing this for the next few hours. Man, you must've spent forever working on this. It's great!thanks pounce!
and, if by forever you mean, this is my second week of development; then no. but, i have put a lot of effort into this so far, and i'm glad its starting to pay off.i'm also working on a level editor, hopefully, that will give many more hours of enjoyment.I mean like there's little details that I never see in other games. Like the shadows, or the diamonds lighting up the area and the light disappears when you get them, stuff like that. It's really an entertaining game! Lemme know when all the levels are done so I can
continue to procrastinate on my homeworkplay them! :DHow dare you make a Bioshock ripoff. Jackass.
