No, no sad story about abandonement, just a screenshot of my newest game, that will be called… (guess)
It's the entrance area (oddly enough the last area in the game)I was kinda impressed with how it turned out myself. It is certainly the best looking area in the game.Expect this game soon!
Looks really good JaJ :), also like how the view fades a bit. Background has a really nice touch to it, with the transparent eggs.
The blocks on the left look a bit strange, is that shadow-casting ?The bottom right map thing is a bit blunt
`The blocks on the left look a bit strange, is that shadow-casting ?`
The character is the only thing that emits light in the game, the blocks on the left arn´t reached by the light`The bottom right map thing is a bit blunt `Should it be smaller? Or with different colors? I'm pretty sure you'll have a very hard time finding your way around without itWhen is soon?
Dang, this looks really cool - I've always liked your pixelly graphics. That creature is pretty bizarre, but sorta intriguing as well.
So is this some kind of exploration game? Because I <3 exploration games. And they seem to have sorta fallen out of vogue. It is most definately an exploration game. It's one big maze actually, it focusses completely on finding your way out and puzzles, no action or reflex elements like enemies etc. I tried to make it not really lineair, and there are many optional things to find. Also, it'll have two different endings depending on what (or rather, how much) you do.
"When is soon?"Soon is next week hopefully. I have been working on it almost fulltime since the the fifth of August and I hope to finish it before the month ends. Currently I'm on schedual, the main part of the game is pretty much done, but I will still have plenty of work hiding some optional stuff and polishing itOh, do I ever love the sound of this. Nonlinearity and secrets = big points, for me. And action is okay, but it gets old. I love a good puzzle.
Next week, eh? I'll stay tuned.I'm still confused over what your game will be titled. :P
That visual style is definitely a keeper. :)
