So, I"m sure you guys have heard of the impending release of the Elders Scrolls MMO, which I'm really looking forward to.
Well, a few days ago, I started playing a different MMO to keep me busy until the beta of The Elder Scrolls Online comes out. It's called Tera.I"m sure you guys have seen this before:Well, that's pretty much true. The armor for women in this game is absolutely ridiculous. Also, there's this:Yeah. That's actually a race in the game. (I think rob would have really liked this.)Anyway, now that those things are out of the way, let's get to the awesome stuff about the game. This game has hands down, the best combat system of any MMO I"ve ever played. This game is just FUN to play. Killing monsters doesn't seem like a chore compared to other MMOs. Enemies don't generally force you to fight them, either. You can walk right past them if you feel like it.Also, it's going free to play next month. You can play it now though, by going to the site and registering for a free trial. It'll basically last you until the game goes free next month. This game is really, really fun. (Hint, hint.)So, thoughts?
26GB?
I barely have enough space for a single player game…Oi, you used the Streaming Installer?
I tried that and kept getting the error "unable to install" so I switched to the client installer thing.I haven't been playing everyday like I wish to. It's a really nice game to go back to though when I'm in the mood. I had no issues paying monthly for a high quality game. The graphics, sound, and battle system made it enjoyable. People who complain about the end-game play it non-stop from beginning to end and put too many hours a day into it. If I played a game too much, I would complain and get sick of it too.
Yeah. I'm on the PvE server. As for the space thing, yeah. MMOs are usually pretty large since they have to have huge worlds to occupy so many players.
I just installed it on my external hard drive. With a 3 terabyte drive, it wasn't that big a deal.I was also able to download it in a night. When I woke up, it was done downloading.Daaaamn, I forgot how much I get lost in this game's art. They did a fantastic job with world design.
Also, takes me two hours to download this game. Just download the client. It's not that bad.I could actually start it off when it was at the 3.3GB mark for whatever reason (it said that was the needed buffer). Shame it plays like shit from my god-awful latency. I think it's constantly eating up all my bandwidth, freezing the game trying to load assets.
A pity, 'cause I was looking forward to investing some time on this. From what little I played the graphics and effects were nice, clean and sharp, if a little on the either "let's show loadsa skin" or "ultra cutesy" style.Damn, it feels good to have a founder's account when I saw the limitations of a free one. Thanks a ton, Kilin, you saved me from all that.
Seriously though, if you plan to play this game at least semi-seriously, it's worth it to spend $15 on it right now to save yourself lots of money in the future.
The race I chose looks like they're made of rock. They also look like they love doughnuts. I probably should have chosen human…
EDIT: The servers are down today due to the transition to F2P and the new content. I'm pretty excited.Free to play is up! Anyone can register, download and start playing!
