11 ways to tell if you're a GMC-noob

Posted by Requiem on July 19, 2006, 10:03 a.m.

Am I ever bored. Time to make a list.

11 ways to tell if you're a GMC-noob!

1) Every game you've ever made is your first game.

2) You release a new game every 20 minutes.

3) You can [:)] barely [:(] read your [:)] own posts [:(] through the smileys [:)]

4) your keybord has no shift or punctuation keys and you probably need a new one but you dont care because hey who cares about grammar right

5) You refuse to use any graphics other than the amazing things found in the GM resource packs.

6) Your user name has more than 3 numbers in it. In fact, it has more numbers than letters.

7) You've rated every game you've ever seen a 10/10. Even the ones you didn't even download.

8) You're working on not one, not four, but three RPGs right now. And they're all about Mario.

9) You seem to think being one person working on shoddy games instantly makes you a corporation.

10) You faithfully follow the ideology that any post with more than four words is evil.

11) Your Username Starts with "Ted" and ends with "Fuzz".

So, anybody got more ways to tell if you're the scum of the internet?

Edit:

Fun fact for you: There are 1,300,000 Invision Free boards out there. There are 14,500,000 members registered on these Invision Free boards. That means that the average piece-of-shit GM message board has 11 members!

lolz. oh, oh!

19)your name is mr. kubus

20)you think 1337 5P34K instantly makes you not a noob.

21)you think GML is your religion

22)you make a update of your game in a whole new topic… and the update was 2 days from the last release.

23)you think that bad graphics does not matter for a game

24)you ask for something that says in the topic "do not ask for blah or blah!"

25)you downright games just because they're getting better rating than yours

26)you finish nearly all your games in 20-40 minutes

27)you have to debate someones opinion completely irrelevent to the current topic right there right now

28)you claim you are with a company but only say that to get attention

29)the name of a game you post usually has a name that only attracts people.

my list i came up with goes on and on… pretty long, so there's many ways to become a GMC noob.

19 is the most obvious.

Yeah, bad graphics do matter in a game, but okay graphics don't. People don't understand when I say "Graphics don't matter" I mean, they don't matter if they don't make my eyes bleed.

Ha Ha Thats great! If I think of any I'll let you know.

Edit] I came up with one.

- You cut down everyone else's game which are far better than your own.

You're a n00b when you read these symptoms and laugh, not noticing that you do all of these things.

You're also a noob if you:

30)Try and help other noobs by confusing them

31)Ask another question in your question without trying out the answer

making an entire post just saying: "it doesn't work"

32)thinking that you should be a mod.

flooding the Advanced Q and A with really stupid questions

33)overlooking the read_manual() function

34)asking: "there's a manual?"

35)trying to make an RPG, 3D game, or/and Online Game as your first game and asking lots of questions about how to make one in Novice Q and A.

36) Calling Experienced members noobs because they're telling you you cannot make an RPG, 3D game, and/or online game as your first game.

yeah, most of these are from the Novice Q and A… where Takagi works…

37) You post the same shite idea over and over and over again as every other n00b in the Destructible Terrain experts topic. Seriously, the topic could be shortened from 15 and a half pages down to 10 if the lazy-ass Expert Forum mods would get off their arses (I have reported the topic several times) and trim down all the n00b posts about how their "amazing object-based terrain" is actually far superior to my, or anyone else's, surface-based terrain. Look, you piece of n00bish crap, your example works at precisely 2FPS while my version runs at 200FPS. Get a life and read at least 2 pages of the topic or I will kill you, your dog and your extended family.

38) You refuse to accept that any other GM community website apart from the GMC is any good. Nay, the GMC is the only GM community website.

39) Hosting? What's hosting? A good (or is it bad?) n00b cannot find a hosting site despite being giving several links.

40) You cannot think beyond a Mario, Sonic or Zelda fangame - Indeed, anything which has those names in the title deserves twice as much attention as any other topic because your n00bish mind cannot cope with words beyond 5 letters.

41) A contuation of the above point, insults such as "asshole" or "gigantic moron" roll right off you and your sheild of smilies - You don't even know what a "gigantic" is.

42) You find rants about the GMC incredibly insulting. Anything that says something bad about the moderating staff - your Gods - is blasphemy and should be retaliated against with maximum flameage.

43) Topics which say "RULES - READ THESE!" are invisible.

44) You have no clue what Mark Overmars does for a living, for he is your Lord and Provider, he blesses you and keeps you, He makes his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. Mark lifts up his countenance upon you and gives you peace. For Mark is your Lord and you may never worship any other.

I'm out. I had to abuse the Old Testament (or Torah, if you're Jewish) for the last gag, I think it worked.

Yippee. And to think I actually suggested I do the Novice forum. Yuck!

So now I'm an object of worship? Meh, that irritates me. They STILL won't listen to me when I tell them to read the rules.

On a side note, I warned a member two days ago, and I got a PM today from him stating how I was cool. v_v
