Let me start this blog off with praising everything that is holy that the weekend is FINALLY here. Seems like this first school week dragged on, and on, and on, and I never thought I'd get a break. Now its time to kick back, and relax for two days.
Well, the point of this blog is to laugh at my computer class. I'm taking a computer class, where it is mandatory to take notes. If you don't take notes, you get detention. Even if you tell the teacher you already know the material, you get detention. Well, over this first week, we learned the mystery of a little program named Word. Today we learned about the wonders known as "Save As" <_< So, Arcalyth suggested that I go up to her and tell her I don't have to take notes on this stuff because I know it already. That didn't fly with her, and today I got detention……… thanks Arcalyth. Well, come Monday we will learn about the wonders of Select All, and Copy/Paste. I can hardly wait to take notes on that as well <_<. I don't really know how to stay awake in this class, its the most boring thing I've ever had to go through. On a side note, I decided I needed a new, animated banner. So I made a banner based off of Space Invaders. Worked about an hour on it, but I think the end result looks pretty cool, so I'm happy with it.
Here's a tip for you, Ross - prewrite all of your notes, I did that in one class in which notes were graded, and passed with awesomeness.
That is true, does this teacher allow jots?
In Science I'd write my notes in the header when I did so dabble to do so (A clue to bloated the nullinformation they teach is?)Personally I found I did better listening to the teacher read the note than I did writing it. Writing it took my focus off the talkingAnd ya, just ignore the teacher. Can't argue with grades and she'll bore of argue either wayMaybe I was never the rebellious type, but what's the problem of just writing down some stuff you already know? It will be boring whether you do it or not and I guess at some point the antiquated teacher will find a new target.
You could even start writing down ideas about new games to make or whatever (on other pieces of paper) at the same time if it's all too slow for you… That way you are using school time to solve problems with GM etc. when you get back home, so you don't waste free time + appearing to be working on school stuff + training your creativity/smarts in the process.Just my 2 cents on the matter. Classes in school only suck if you choose to dislike them and it's in your power to make them worth your time.dont worry about it. everyone has to go through shit like that. plus, IT in a normal highschool is most likely shit, unless they offer somewhat upper level courses. Remember, theyre assuming that you know nothing, because they dont anyway.
