Why isn't the QDB taken seriously?

The QDB sounds like it could be a awesome feature but instead it appears to be treated with very little seriousness. I don't even see a single serious question in there. What the heck?

Also it's not the only feature taken seriously… certain users can and do modify other user's MP on a whim. I just joined, but after I jokingly accused a member of being a furry, I found myself with -1337 MP.

I joined this site hoping for a more intelligent, mature community than Yoyo Games. So far it seems more intelligent and talented, but it's questionable whether the maturity is much better here. I think some bolts need to be tightened down around here… the site just feels broken. And there doesn't seem to be much intent to fix any of it, either. Minecraft can't really be that addictive, can it?

I would've posted this in the QDB, but cannot on account of the -1337 MP.

The negative member points thing was more or less a joke, but you did ask for it. It's one thing to be funny and it's another to be annoying. You were somewhere in between, and even though I wasn't the target of even half of your words, it was getting old pretty fast.

Like Cyrus said, it's different when a new member spouts off "insults" compared to an older, well-known member. Take down the hate a bit (you don't have to love everything), and you'll be a respected member in no time.

And another thing. You come to the site using phrases we all do, referring immediately to the "lazy staff" without trying to understand, and automatically saying a clay animal avatar is representative of furfandom. If you appear to know how we work, how can't we suspect you're a returning user?

Thanks for taking the time to post your concerns in a way that doesn't make anyone look like an idiot.

Well I think more effort should be put into the site… it doesn't seem horribly broken, it just seems like it has a number of loose ends that need tying up.

Well, huh, broken is kinda the philosophy of this website, and we've done very well for many years that way.

Yeah, I have a tendency to beat unfunny jokes into the ground.

And it really isn't hard to determine that the staff is lazy. One look at the clusterfuck called the QDB is enough, really. There's a subsection called "How is babby formed?" for crying out loud. Regarding the furry thing… I really hope he isn't one, lol. I personally can't stand furries. But at first I just called him a furry for teh lulz since he has a fox in his avatar, and it got yours and his attention, so I just ran with it… lol

I take offense to this statement :(

I wasn't lazy back when I was the only active admin =p

Now I have more important things to work on =/

The root cause of the problems isn't the QDB. The QDB might be good if it weren't for the presence of MP. It's really the MP that stinks around here.

The QDB might be good if it were implemented well. Now it's just some feature that's like hacked in insanely.

I think the problem is more of it being on 64d, just like forums don't do well on 64d.
