Ridiculous Game Shows

1) Are you smarter then a fifth grader?

I just watched this show. All I could think of was "What the hell?". Those questions are not fifth grade questions! I could understand if one particular class did an in depth study on some of these studies, but some of those questions are just ridiculous. No second graders know that Venus is the brightest planet from Earth. Third graders don't know what a decagon is. Damn, some of those are high school or even higher questions. I think they should put a real fifth grader on this show. The show is dragged out so much that only two or three questions are asked in between commercial breaks. The worst part is the annoying theme though. I would much rather see Who wants to be a Millionaire.

2) The moment of truth

Now this show just makes me shake my head. All the show consists of is asking people questions while they are hooked up to a lie detector. Questions that could embarrass, or totally mess up their lives. The one episode I saw (before I turned it off) had a guy who apparently is using no money as an excuse to not propose to his girlfriend, and he also apparently makes racist jokes about her family (Asian). This show uses a polygraph (lie detector), which are fairly unreliable. One question asked if this guy stuffed his underwear. He laughed at the question and easily said no. The test said otherwise, and he got pissed. They didn't show it, but the very first thing he did was shout "WHAT?!?!?". This show is based on sensitivity, and ability to remain calm (as to not trigger the test). I would rather read Garfield.

So yeah, Fox is really running out of ideas

Lol I saw a preview of that once. I couldn't even think of something like "what the hell?". I was shocked about the stupidness of the people who made it up (or something :P)…

Theres a UK version of that show over here too, called 'Are you smarter than a 10 year old'. Its complete drawn out crap with a theme tune that makes me want to cut my fucking ears off. Makes me pissed just thinking about it.

Fox sucks. Ever since they pulled the Mass Effect shit. Wait…even way before that.

1) Got it here too (although it's 'Are you smarter that a primary school student' note that it was a translation), and yeah, it sucks. It's practically impossible for an adult to remember very specific stuff like certain numerical properties or other bulls*** that nobody really cares about. And about Who Wants to be a Millionaire, I've been in the USA, and they take no time to go from one question to another. But over here TV stations don't have as much money to give away, so they can take a like 3 to 5 minutes on high questions to another to build up suspense. Resuming: not worthwhile.

2) Also got the moment of truth here. However, I think it isn't on TV anymore, they'd put it on at late hours. I find it useless and stupid to get your marriage 'fixed' on TV with a lie detector. I remember one time I had seen it that a couple had both cheated on each other, that made my day. Yes, Garfield is much better than brain-frying shows.
