I've decided to give everyone a full Saturday to work on their games. The submission deadline is now Sunday the 30th of October 2011, 12:00 noon GMT. You should aim to submit your entire game by this time. Please see "How To Submit Your Game".This should give you just shy of 72 hours, as of now.If you're a little late in submitting (ie a few hours), please don't freak out or anything, it's fine, just submit as soon as possible. You won't get to play the games until Monday the 31st of October 2011, 0:00am GMT.
The competition is now underway! You can now start making your game.Entering is officially closed, but if you're an active 64digits member or if you have a really good excuse for why you didn't enter earlier, feel free to try and convince me. =)AND REMEMBER, you must submit your final game before Sunday the 30th of October 2011, 0:00am GMT, give or take a few hours for those confused by timezones and for other unfortunate souls. On your marks!GOGOGO

1. The aim of the competition is to develop entirely your own game within the time limit (7th Oct - 30th Oct). You will have to keep up to date with my blog posts to find out how and when to submit your final game.2. You MUST have stated you are going to enter before the 7th of October 2011 (read further down for details).3. You MUST submit your final game before the 30th of October 2011 (further details to come).4. You MUST NOT include anything in the game that you don't have full permission to use.5. You must not include anything in the game which has been in a game you have already released on the Internet - within reason and common sense. This rule is only valid until the 31st of October 2011 (0:00 GMT) - you can then share your final game entry elsewhere and do whatever you want with it.N.B. You shouldn't release your final game before the 31st Oct because of this rule.N.B. You can still post screenshots and videos anywhere you like - just not the game. If you want to send demos to each other, do it privately!6. Your final game MUST have Halloween/horror/terror themed elements or references.7. There are no programming language/game engine restrictions except that the game MUST run on Windows 7.8. Don't be a cheater.9. ONE entry per person.10. You MUST be at least 15 years old to take part… the competition entries are likely to involve mature content.11. I reserve the right to update or otherwise change the rules and to disqualify any entrant who breaks the rules.
OK, for those expecting to win $1000 - which toads are you licking? I'm not trying to sell you anything. I gain nothing if you take part (in fact, keep reading, I lose a buck). I won't own anything you make, it's yours. HUNDREDS of people take part in the most famous game comp, Ludum Dare - they don't offer anything at all except the fun of taking part. If you want prizes, give as you wish to receive. If you're in it for the money, you don't deserve anything anyway.

DO YOU LUDUM-DARE** COMPETE?*A 'successful entrant' is defined as an entrant who submits a legitimate game within the time limit, gets at least one vote in the preliminary judging and is someone who I determine has actually bothered to make a decent game.** :3

TRICK-OR-TREAT (EVERYONE)Trick-or-treating is a tradition which promotes greediness, hostility and obese children. To protest and as a companion to the prizes above, for every successful entrant* I will donate

What Rez said.
@Rez Yeh, fine. The rules say you need permission for stuff you use… but in reality, if the creator probably won't care, I probably won't care. You should mention what isn't yours when you submit your game to me anyway, though, just so I know.
To be honest most of the rules are directed at these new "non-64digits" guys in case they have ill intentions.Bitcoin is an alternative digital currency. It's cool cause one can instantly transfer it, there are no fees, it's not inflatable, it's very hard to track, and there is no central issuing authority (p2p). One Bitcoin is worth just under $5, but the exchange rate tends to bounce around a lot.
Think PayPal minus PayPal's horrible aspects.Where do you use it?
I will donate £10 or whatever that translates to in you foreign devils' currency.
how should I donate it?edit: 15.65500 U.S. dollars according to googleWe'll sort out the prizes and how to transfer them after the winners are declared. Unless anyone wants to share any ideas.
100 comments! Half of them are me answering questions!I have a partner (I do believe).
This has almost escalated to the point where it could have an entry fee :P I'll add $5 to zeh prizes.
Do we need to post if we have a partner? I'll probably be working with a friend on the sound design and having local peeps do QA.Where to use it is a great question. searchbitcoin.com is a good place to start. You could also check out faceniff if you have an Android phone…
Transferring Bitcoin is really easy. You install the client, give me your address, I copy and paste it into my client, specify the amount, and hit send. In the next few minutes, all the nodes near me will pick up the transaction and broadcast it through the network until it reaches you. And no transaction fees, email addresses, or anything like that.Got Source Control working (Git) =D
