"I WANNA MAKE AN OPEN WORLD PROCEDURALLY GENERATED SANDBOX GAME WITH DROP IN AND DROP OUT ONLINE CO-OP!"
"Me too! But that sounds a little hard, why don't we start smaller?"
"I WANNA MAKE AN OPEN WORLD PROCEDURALLY GENERATED SIDESCROLLER WITH DROP IN AND DROP OUT OFFLINE CO-OP!"
"Smaller."
"JRPG!"
"Smaller."
"First person shooter?"
"The smallest you can think of!"
"A 7 level sidescroller for the Game Boy?"
"YEAH"

One thing I notice people saying is to work small since this is my first project, I assure you, that is exactly what I am doing.
There aren't going to be any special amazing features or anything well beyond the scope of a first project, to emphasize this, not only am I using a Game Boy palette but I got the right resolution too! Just look at that beautiful 160x144-ness, scaled up just a little bit, fantastic.
Also: my game over screen!

That looks awesome. I like how the wisp gets all excited as you float up. XD
Pirate-rob - Unintended side effect of the framerate of Gifcam not agreeing with the framerate of the game, though your interest has been noted, a different sprite may be in the works for Will reacting to your demise. :D
